I just love your wit and sense of humor! You’re a natural comedian. I enjoy all of your videos! I didn’t think balls in the dishwasher would turn out so great. Maybe on a cycle without heat they wouldn’t be so yellow? But it’s still using hot water, so..oh well. 🤷🏻♀️
@tripleheart29703 ай бұрын
OK Jasmine, since nobody else is willing to take the pun further, I will. Could you please do a video on how to properly clean and stroke your shaft? After all, what good are clean balls if you have a dirty stick, a bad grip, and a poor stroke. Another video on proper pocket care would also be a plus. Anyway, all joking aside, I am very grateful for everything I have learned from watching your videos. Thank you for sharing all things you have learned from your hard work and dedicated practice. I consider it a privilege to be able to learn from a highly skilled professional player such as yourself.

You can build your own ball polisher for $40 with a Home Depot bucket, some carpet scraps and a $29 orbital polisher. I wouldn't put my Aramith Tournament Blacks ($600) in the dishwasher! Really like your videos anyway...keep up the good work.

A couple years ago I tried washing the pool balls in the kitchen sink using Dawn dish washing liquid, it wasn't the one used to clean oil spills off of baby ducks, this was their "new and improved" version. After washing/drying the the balls, they had a white haze on them that would not come off, had to use Arimith Ball Restorer, then the regular Arimith ball cleaner to removed the haze. Finally started using TAOM V10 chalk, it's incredibly clean, so I won't be needed to clean the balls nearly as often. Thanks for producing content, you're a good teacher, see you next time 😊

Heres a tip: if you do wash a ball set by hand with water, use distilled water. Regular tap water can contain minerals that will lead to white spots, or even a hazy film.

This reminded me I went to a tournament in Mexico once, and the owner decided to wax the balls right before the tournament started. And let me tell you fresh waxed balls play crazy. So everyone started their matches and they were playing with these freshly waxed balls. It was quite the sight… draw shots were spinning in place. It was mayhem.

Unavoidable. Can get off by washing in sick with green scrubby, or putting in ball polisher. (If washing in sink, you will need to wax and hand buff with soft towel afterwards.)
@Chevybob206 ай бұрын
I tested this on an old set. Don’t use the heat cycle. Cold water only if you really want to use this method. The heat caused the black numbers to be raised slightly above the rest of the ball. It was discernible by feel.

@BadAtGaming1007 ай бұрын
Not to mention using a dishwasher packet is a static dose of detergent, If anything you could use normal pour liquid or powder and dose it yourself (if you spill it becomes pre-wash suds). But overall the heat still can ruin the ball coating. I’d say if a pool pro hasn’t thought of doing it, then we shouldn’t do it 😅

I was given a table and all the accessories a couple years ago. The people just quit playing and the balls went yellow from age. I used a wax and grease remover along with 800 grit sand paper to clean all the yellow off. Then took a buffing compound and brought them back to a shine. Took a few hours but made a huge difference going from yellow back to white. Of course if you choose to do this wear rubber gloves while cleaning with the wax and grease remover.
@jamesbond207 ай бұрын
Hand sanding, even with fine grit paper (2000-3000 etc. ) removes material from the pool balls. 800 is not really considered super fine grit. It is impossible to evenly take off the exact same amount of material on a round object by hand. Although they may look good, you have now made them smaller in diameter and have unshaped them from being perfectly round. I'm not saying that they don't look better, or that they are not "good enough" for home use...but they are irreparably damaged.
