We always just take the leading edge off to allow the water to run freely back to the pool when reeling it back in

Great video and info; thank you! My pool cover operated fine yesterday; today it opens only about one foot, and can close that foot it does open. The ropes seem to be fine in the tracks and I don't see obvious debris around the reel. Thoughts? It's in the 90's in Cincinnati, OH. Thanks

That's a tough one to answer without actually being there to diagnose the situation. So many different possibilities and different brands of pool covers out there to just guess. Sorry I can't be more helpful.

Yesterday I noticed my pool pump stopped working, so I went out and turned the switch to my pool pump off and turned it back on and I hear a clicking noise then turned the switch back off and heard another clicking noise….I just bought this Hayward Super Pump replacement motor in 2020 and I’m wondering what the problem is and if you know? Could it be the Capacitor or did the outside Breaker Switch to my pool pump go out? Thanks need your help

First thing I would test is to see if the pump is getting power with multimeter and if it is then make sure the motor spins freely. If both of these are good could be capacitor. If there is no power then it's a breaker or switch.

@@Poolelementary Thanks for replying, I took the pump apart from the back and the impeller had came off and the metal thing that sticks out of the impeller broke off….weird how that happened, do you know what might have caused that? So the capacitor and breaker switch is good have to buy another impeller

It's hard to say but maybe something got in the impeller.

Great video! What do you do if the cover comes out of the track only in one small spot, like 8 inches long and jams the track so that the cover won't retract?

How difficult is it to remove pool cover friend? I need to install wheels on one side, it was dragging out the cover. What else how can I clean it to make it look good, ive tried many solutions on that? Lastly where can i send pool cover to have it repaired? There are tears on the corner of pool cover from to much dragging it and opening up by my children and step son. It the liner or the edging or white stitch edging. I don't know what is called

Hello, the steps on removing a pool cover are far to extensive to explain in message. Cleaning I use Biogaurd off the wall cleaning solution or just vinegar and water. And for repairs it depends if you have someone local that can do heavy duty upholstery repairs.

You will have to do some research because I am not familiar with these pumps. I would have to Google all the specs and I myself have never used them being were a pentair dealer and the other pumps I work on are Hayward.

What about auto covers that are for inground pool and the track not on the concrete surface but inside pool?

Can I use a Intex sand filter pump on inground pool?

You can if you can get it to fit up to your inground pool plumbing. I wouldn't try it but from intex specs the Krystal clear 14 inch system with .6 hp pump will filter up to 17,000 gallons roughly and has 1 1/2 inch plumbing. Now this system has a third of the filter media as normal on that size of pool to allow that small pump to move enough water to turn the pool water over which to me sounds like its going to be tough to keep your pool water looking good.
