Why I watch Chris's lessons is that he is strikingly honest His lessons opens my mind to what he demonstrates with simplicity and yet technical enough to tease my curiosity on the subject. This CTE aiming was well thought out and presented in a professional manner. Great job Chris, keep on teaching.

Again, great video and so far the best description of CTE. With those 5 degree adjustments, you have actually made CTE usable. However, still several points to be aware: 1. The objective of CTE is to provide an easier to follow aiming system than estimating the ghost ball. However, with the current system Chris introduced, a player needs to estimate the cutting angle, the ABC point on the object ball, and also the half-tip pivot on the cue ball. In my opinion, with all these estimations, it has questionably lost its meaning of a "better" aiming system than just ghost ball aiming. 2. Even a player can follow every step and make all the above estimations correctly, whether or not the player can shoot exactly along where he/she aims would be another question. In my opinion, any aiming system should only be practiced AFTER one can consistently shoot straight stop shots, or at least get a practice cue ball which can give some clear feedback. 3. I am still not an advocate of CTE because all actions rely on pivoting (or sweeping) but still, again, NOT A WORD about bridge lengths was mentioned throughout the video. Just think about it: a player bridging 2 inches from the cue ball would definitely have different pivoting results than a player bridging 8 inches away. Anyways, I really like your videos and I appreciate your great effort. I am just raising these points up and hope they become a good amendment.

Use a 15 and a 30 it make EVERY SINGLE bank you can come up with as creative as you want to get just pick CTE and Edge to A and try both pivots if you see Edge to A with a left would be how you would cut a shot into the corner than Refence the other side of the OB use EDGE TO A but try a diffent pivot direction and you will see how the balls start tracking to a pocket 1 2 3 4 and 5 rail banks all those banks are the same algnment you use to make a slight angle cut The 15 and the same way you make a straight in shot THE FIFETEEN NOW USE SAME WAY YOU MADE THE STRAIGHT IN and start playing with the banks you gonna blow your mind when you start making 3 and 4 rail banks 3 out of 5 trys is non uncomon once you can use this system for normal shots you will find all these crazy looking banks are like your firing a straight in Shot

I do find, to my thinking, that there is no need to 'rename' the ABC/CBA aim points of the object ball relative to the direction of the cut. In my opinion, it over complicates the discussion. I think that, for purposes of discussion, "A" and "C" should remain the same regardless of the left/right cut. Exmpl., on a typical left cut we focus on "C" and on a right cut we focus on "A". Otherwise it's just something else to think about... and it's not as if we don't have enough to think about already.😊😊

I was just starting to wonder if you had stopped making videos. Now I have mixed reviews about this one. The first 8 minutes, I think didn't help me much at all. Personally. I hope it does help other people, and I appreciate you taking the time to try and enunciate how exactly this system works. And I am really interested in this system, but I cant seem to grasp the subtleties. I thought I did, so I took it to the table after your last video, but couldn't get it to work. A little more stuck with me this time from 10 minutes on, but will have to take it to the table again and see. I feel very comfortable with my shot making ability, but, this could surely add to my Hail Mary shots, akin to memorizing a kicking system to get you out of a jam. Again, thank you for taking time and trying to explain to the rest of us. And looking forward to your next topic. :)

Actually inside pivot is the one that thinns the cut, and outside pivot is the one that thickens the cut, per Stan Shuffet's CTE Pro1 aiming system. He named inside and outside pivot per the starting pre-pivot cue tip position. And about the visuals - 15° and 30° perception are two line visual perceptions which consist of aiming line and sight line, aiming line is inside CB edge to OB inside quarter or center, sight line is center to outside OB edge. You first align to aiming line, and then you move your head/vision a little left or right until you can see BOTH LINES AT THE SAME TIME. 45° and 60° perceptions are one line perceptions that do not have a CTE sight line, just the aiming line - CB inside edge to OB outside quarter and outside 1/8. And since your perception is actually a two line visual for most cut shots, and you aren't aligned directly behind either line since you have to see them both at the same time, you actually aren't at that exact angle which than forces you to pivot on every shot. For example, on a 30° perception, your visual center is gonna be closer and arround the inside CB quarter to outside OB quarter because you have to see both CTE sight line and inside CB edge to OB center aiming line, and its not directly on CTE sight line, so you do have to pivot again. And also you don't have to "correct" anything for angles inbetween because, if you get the perceptions the correct way so it really is a perception and you're not standing directly behind the lines, than you'll see that for the same perception and different placement of balls on the table and a bit different angles you'll also be a little differently placed in regards of center of the CB towards the spot on the OB, there is still no exact explanation why this happens but it does and that is why same perception can work with same pivot/sweep for different angles. Also your inside (thinning, not thickening) sweep/pivot for 15° should be the same as outside (thickening, not thinning) sweep/pivot for 30° perception, they're interchangable per Stan Shuffet. Most, if not all, what I shared here is already on the AZbilliards forum.

So to add to my comment from a few days ago: I am currently a SL 5/6 and have risen through the ranks probably due to learning defensive shots and kicking/banking starting as a SL 1/2 in APA before I ever learned how to make “normal” shots. That was what the higher SLs on my teams would tell me to learn first: “since you need a plan to beat higher skill levels and can’t make shots yet, you’re going to learn how to play defensively,” and it really has paid off up until recently. I’ve found myself struggling especially the last 6 months. I have worked on my stance, bridge hand, elbow placement, and stroke a lot for the past year due to chronic back & hip pain and also complications with Lupus. Just working on fundamentals alone pushed me up to a SL 6, but there is still that feeling of inadequacy...literally comes down to cut shots. I see so many lower skilled players able to make shots that I should make 10/10 times for my skill level. And yes...I’ve recorded myself multiple times over the past two years when I started taking pool seriously. I’m not twisting, jumping, dropping my elbow, gripping too tightly, etc. I’m just not aiming correctly. So....for the last several days, I have set up my iPad to watch this specific video while at my home practice table. Hands down, this is the best comprehensive CTE aiming video all at once instead of having to watch multiple videos over weeks and months just to try to learn and understand the system. I found a printable protractor and used that to setup the hole reinforcements for the exact cut angles. Yes, I’m that kind of geek on a normal, daily basis 😂 Anyway, to sum it up: within the last three days and a total of 28 hours table time, I’ve went from making shots that I would make 30-40% of the time to now making 75-90% (varying percentages based on the degree of the cut angle, distance, and speed.) The way you explained the offset with the bridge hand clicked instantly. That offset actually helped to fix a couple of small glitches in my stance and bridge arm too. I’m not sure exactly what it was that made your video resonate with me versus the thousands of other videos, but it did. Perhaps it was the dual viewpoints simultaneously....and perhaps the way in which you explain things. You are able to clearly explain things that any skill level can understand. You also have the “it’s easy to learn and do” type of personality that can give struggling players like myself the confidence to keep trying, and they will accomplish it very soon as well. If I have any constructive criticism of your video: I would like to see your bridge hand a little more “still.” Lol the finger tapping made the cue tip adjust a few extra times on the cue ball when showing the offset-to-center pivot 😉 Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication. It is very much appreciated. I pray that you have many more future successes, that life brings you much joy, and that you are blessed with a life beyond your wildest imagination 🤗💕🍀

You can really get the angles down... for me My cue is marked so far from the tip (right around where the chalk wear is closest to the joint). for me and my hand I can lay my fully open hand down from the cue, which is on the path of the object ball and pocket. and span out to the center to center cue - obj... so for me this is exactly a 30 degree half ball hit. Through trial and error you can do other spans... like index to pinky fully span for me this is a quarter ball 15% hit. and so on.

Enjoyed the video. I also have had trouble learning the CTE system. I think you do a great job of explaining it from your perception. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Thanks again for this improved information about CTE specially the last minutes when you discussed about using side spin in CTE also the adjustments to make. I appreciate the video, can't wait to practice it thoroughly tomorrow in our local billiards place, very informative and looking forward for more videos.

Really nice follow-up for your previous video. Since I saw the last one, I'd been experimenting and using your tricks in matches, but I did notice too that sometimes I'd hit too thin or too thick, but unable to reproducibly adjust for that in game. I can't wait to try this now ;)

Hi Chris, the video is great and you've explained it very nicely so thank you very much for your upload. But the system CTE is still difficult and somewhat confusing about that pivoting and sweeping. The other part of the system on hitting point A, B or C...I understand completely. I also looked at the "Splitting the difference" aiming system. This system is easy to understand. Like all aiming systems, it needs practice but the splitting the difference aiming system is easier to understand. CTE is still a great aiming system and you explained it very nice, so compliments on that :-)

Thank you so much for all your videos. I have not played pool regularly for a few years now due to a move and retirement. I started watching your videos and have seen some definite improvement in my game and practice sessions. The (CTE) Aiming System video was easy to understand and I hope to incorporate this system into my game. Thanks again for you videos and the giveaway.

Great video as usual Lil' Chris! It really clears up a lot about CTE. It seems like I sorta use a combination of GB, CTE, and just plain ole Experience when I aim and it works for me. I'll try to see if adding a bit more of CTE to my method will give me better results. BTW that case looks AMAZING!!!

Amazing! this CTE actually gives me a reference to aim at with cut shots! I've always just Eyeballed it n of course missed quite a bit...gotta try this!

This was a much better explanation of cte it must have taken a lot of work to get to this point. Thanks for the effort. I now understand the sweeps better
