Instead of a pool and patio, we have a catio! And I wouldn't change that for the world. Our cats can have the opportunity to be outside safely--the catio keeps them safe from wildlife, cars, other cats, etc. and it keeps birds, squirrels, and other wildlife safe from them. We have a little chipmunk family that lives under our side deck, so we love that they stay safe and we get to watch them. They are just the cutest little things!! We have a pet door so they can come and go out on the catio as they please and they just love going out on the catio. I love the tiki torches--I'm going to look into those. We got a couple but they don't work half the time and the light is so faint you can hardly see it (they weren't very expensive, so guess you get what you pay for).

Jan Hankins That is absolutely wonderful. We have 2 kittens my husband rescued from a cold garage and they were outside fir a few weeks probably born out there so we're putting on another room aka Catio just for our little babies. Tyfs ❤️ 🙌🌹

Awesome tips! My backyard is about as big as yours and I've decorated it to liken a woodsy park. Most folks say it's "tranquil" and I love that! It's fenced in and lined with large gravel/rock and we have several park benches throughout it along with a lot of lights, a running water fountain and bird feeders. It's so relaxing just sitting on the patio listening and watching all the wildlife and our dog Uno loves having all the ground to run and explore. At night we have a medium sized clump of bushes towards the back of our property with a life sized deer in the middle of it. It's lit with solar lights and the deer decoy looks unbelievably real. I love sitting out back even when we have snow...it's just that pretty.

I think your biggest and best find is Randy! He's so handy and helpful. I live alone and have health issues that greatly impact my strength and stamina, so I have to be very selective about the projects I take on. I would love to have an extra pair of hands! I have a question: How do you deal with mosquitoes? Do you spray the patio area before using it? Use repellent on your body? Light citronella candles?

Randy is very handy and we enjoy taking on project together ❤️ We actually have our yard sprayed for mosquitos....it was sprayed today in fact! We use a local lawn company and they spray every 3 weeks with a non-toxic, pet-friendly, organic mosquito pesticide. It disrupts the life cycle of mosquitos. It's sprayed into our trees, bushes, and any place that mosquitos like to breed. We started this service about 4 years ago and it's been great!

Great video! I am so excited, we moved into a house last fall that has a pool! We also have a patio that has a koi pond too! We have so many great places to use, anxiously waiting for warmer weather so we can basically live outside 😊 We even have a great front porch that we actually used a couple weekends ago. Had friends down for lunch, we were able to sit out while it rained. Loving our new to us old house ♥️

Renee everything looks so nice. I love the tiki lights though I don’t have a big enough yard or pool/ fence to display them. I really like your planter box, it makes planting so much easier and looks good too! Randy is quite the handy man! Love the wheels! Good morning Renee! I hope you all are doing fine today. Those were all very nice! We have one of the circle pressure washer cleaners. We have 2 mini schnauzers and put them in the garage for their pee time when it's rainy out. We have pee pads but they don't always hit them. Lol So it gets a bit stinky, we haven't used the circle cleaner yet but will soon. Maybe today after it warms up a little. I like these cooler mornings but sheesh it's cold! The lights and the planter box looked really nice! I'll have to show my wife that planter box, she would really like it. We miss not getting to play "spot Renee " at the ice cream shop when we're in Paducah, but I know that was a lot of work for you and it looks like you're doing great now. We don't have a pool but have a patio out back that we've been working on this spring and you've given me lots of ideas for it. Hope you all have a great day! It looks like it's going to be a little warmer today than yesterday. Thankfully! Lol

Oh I love the tiki lights they look so real I have to have some of them and your pool area is lovely Rennee…I don’t have a pool sadly just a small garden back and front and a nice front garden that raps round side of hse 3 bed hse… it’s a corner house so j do have more garden then most and an 8ft brick wall all round the bck garden and a big tree in the corner so those lights you have round the fence wld look lovely round my wall and behind the tree…I have a good seating area with dining table and chairs…I made my raised planters last yr but love the way you put wheels on so I think they will go on my list to buy…we don’t have good weather yet but wen we do we will be cooking outside on the grill…thankyou Rennee for your very helpful ideas ❤

What a great video! IDK where you are, but do you have any advice for mosquitos at night? I want to be able to swim at night or even just hang out around my pool...but the thought of the horrid mosquitos that start coming out in droves at dusk where I live, is such a hindrance! I love your backyard. We don't have a pool, but I do have a patio. I am in the process of upgrading my patio furniture. I love your couches, I was wondering if you like them and do they hold up over time? How long do the cushions take to dry after a rain?

This will be our 3rd summer with the couches. We do cover them when it's going to rain...and we put them in the pool house during the winter. They dry quickly and have held up great...except for a few small holes torn by the squirrels.

My pool is fiberglass. It's one big piece and they dropped it in the ground after the hole was dug. Fiberglass is great because it's easy to clean, low maintenance, and it requires less chemicals in the water :)

Sometimes yes. We have a company that sprays our yard, bushes, and trees for mosquitos every 3 weeks. They use an organic spray that is safe for the dogs. It stops the mosquito breeding cycle and has really helped.

We've had our fiberglass pool for over 15 years and have never had a problem. Fiberglass pools require less chemicals. You don't have to deal with holes or tears in a liner. They are easy to clean. I highly recommend!

You simply plug them into a wall outlet with the charging cord provided. Fully charge in about 3 hours. Then they stick right back on to the pool. Easy peasy!
