Great video. Answered a lot of my questions, but I still have a problem. My spillway schedule is set to run from 7am to 8pm each day, but it continues to cycle on and off about every 10-12 minutes. Which would almost sound like its in an egg timer sort of mode but it is not. It's really driving me crazy. We never had this problem before and haven't messed with the schedule at all. Any thoughts? I'm a bit confused regarding the salt cell portion of this video. Is the guy saying I need to have my pressure side cleaner run for the ENTIRE time I want high speed pump? If so, that's crazy, given the power consumption needed for the cleaner pump is quite high. I've struggled to find a way to implement high and low speeds for the pump and decided to wire the salt cell to a different relay and just schedule when it should come on or not. That said it will only produce salt when the high speed is running. Wish I could get the salt cell to produce salt in the low speed feature setting.

39:58 The advice to run your salt cell (filter/pool) from 10:00PM to 8:00AM and also have your cleaner come on at 2:00AM to 8:00AM works perfect for my salt pool. I have a somewhat large pool (37,000 gallons or so) and live in a very hot climate in central CA. With that schedule and my salt set at 80% it keeps my pool in the 3 to 5 ppm chlorine range. Sometimes I need to bump it up to 100% for a bit and sometimes I need to drop it a bit but for the most part my pool is clean and clear with his schedule suggestions.

I have switched out my pump century for century when I put power on the motor goes on regardless of the filter indicator, I checked in pump status and it shows no comm connection, does new motor need to be reprogramed?

Is there a way to configure the control panel to be able to control the pump in service mode instead of having to use the pump screen? Periodically I have to run my pump for 48 hours. Wish I could put in service mode and hit the filter button on the easy touch panel. Can this be done or do I have to work directly from the pump panel

The service mode button disables the automation controls of the control panel and lets you control the pump from the pump controls. Instead of using service mode at all. a workaround would be to change or adjust the schedule of the pool pump in the automation control panel to run essentially 24-hours - 12:00am - 11:58pm. You would just need to change the schedules back after the 2-day period.

I’m trying to setup a Pentair Easytouch Control System with 8 spots with a Intelliflo VS pump. I’m trying to make a schedule with 4 time slots that continues to run 24/7 and I want each time slot to have a different pump speed. Example #1 5am to 9am at 3,000 rpm’s, #2 9am to 4pm 1,550 rpm’s, #3 4pm to 11pm 2,550 rpm’s, #4 11pm till 5am 1,000 rpm’s. Can you tell me how to accomplish this. I had it programmed on my pump but now the pool company installed the easytouch control system and they saying it can’t be done. I don’t believe that.

Question, I’m dog sitting and they taught me how to use the pool a while back when I was here the last time. I turned on the spa to get it warmed up for later. When I did that it turned off the water fall/feature thingy that flows into the pool. It had been on since I’ve been here. Did I turn it off when I turned on the spa? Is there a way to turn it back on? Or should I just not bother it. I’m using the Pentair easy touch wireless with the 8 buttons. Thanks!

When you turned on the spa, valves rotate to isolate the water flow to and from the spa so the heated water only returns to the spa so it can be heated. There should be a button labeled Waterfall or Water Feature if you want to turn the waterfall back on, but it’s not necessary especially if you intend to use the spa again.

Thank you for the detailed walk through. This is very helpful. I have a Spa as well and whenever my schedule kicks off every morning, I see Spa on the screen by default. Is it because Spa is set as Schedule 1? There is a overflow pipe on the ground and it spits out water. But if I press F again the system shuts off. Pressing F again shows Pool on the screen and the pump is active but no water is being spit out of the overflow pipe. Is that normal?

I am sure I have a single speed pump on my pool. Why would there be a cleaner function on my easytouch panel if the pump always runs at one speed. Would I need to set up a schedule for the cleaner function or is the cleaner function always running anyway. Any help you can give is appreciated.

I am assuming we did not build this pool or it’s older before variable speed pumps were the only option. The different pump speeds only pertain to variable speed pumps. If customers have multiple pumps connected to different relays inside the panel a schedule can be set to run each pump if they choose to do so. For your situation, if you only have one pump and that one pump is single speed there would not be a reason to have multiple schedules just have one scheduled to run the pool for 8-10 hours or so as needed for the size of the pool.

Great video. Question: Can you have more than just two speeds scheduled? Say I want my low speed circulation at 1600rpm and my high speed cleaner mode at 2700rpm. But...I want to run my water feature (so spa water is circulated because my spa has a water fall into the pool) but I don't need the water fall running at 2700rpm and 1600rpm is too slow to do anything more than dribble water over the edge. Could I set a separate schedule to have the waterfall running at 2000rpm?

You can have up to 8 different speeds programmed. You should be able to go in to your Intelliflo settings menu and change the speed for your Spillway circuit to whatever speed works best for you.

This is a great video!!! Thank you. Question, on pool it shows 1/3 but want it to go to 1/1. When it shows 1/3 it does not let me move over to the 3 to change to 1 how do I do it get to the 3 to arrow down to 1?

The 1/3 means that you have 3 schedules and are on the 1st of the 3. If you do not need 3 schedules, arrow down to 2/3 and 3/3 and delete them. Additional schedules are often added accidentally and are easily deleted if not needed.

In schedules - I don't have "cleaner" mode. Is that normal? I have "Pool" and here's the odd thing - It has the "Spa" option but we don't have a spa but next to it it says "1" like it does next to the "Pool" option. Aux button 1 is my pool light. I need to push it 2 times to turn light on ? why ?

The button triggers the relay in the panel to engage the feature, they should normally hear a click when they press the button. The relay could be sticking, or they are not pressing the button hard enough or pressing and holding it too long.

When my filter pump button turns on the heat button turns on to, how do I reset that or make the heat button not turn on ?

Hi there. You need to turn off the heat from the panel. Press the menu button, use the down arrow button until the cursor is on Heat and press select button. Press select one more time to enter the heat controls for the pool and in this menu the heat temperature will be flashing. Below the temperature it will say Heat: Heater if they want to disable the heater it needs to say Heat: OFF. If they press the select button one time the Heat: Heater will begin flashing, they will need to either press the up arrow or down arrow once and it will now say Heat: OFF. To save their settings press menu button three times to go back to the main screen and then you are done.

Assuming you have a variable speed pump, Service Mode disconnects communication from the pump and the pump is then cotrollable from the display on the pump. Hope that helps.

If you have the Easytouch Pool & Spa panel, you can control up to 4 actuators. The suction and return valve actuators would turn automatically when you switch in or out of spa mode. A third actuator could be programmed to operate at the same time. Contact our Service Department if you need additional assistance with this programming.

I put it in timeout, turn on cleaner and filter pump, LED indicator lights come on but nothing happens. In auto, everything works. What am I doing wrong?

Timeout mode is designed to disable all devices and features. An example would be a repair has been completed and needs time to set or cure before anything runs. Perhaps you are confusing Timeout Mode with Service Mode. Service Mode disables scheduled run times but allows you to operate everything manually.

You would need the EASYTOUCH 4PSC-IC40 SINGLE BODY CONTROL W/ SCG (520593) and you could add the valve actuator if you wanted to run the deck jets with your existing pump.

My freeze protect circuit is defeating my heater from warming my pool above 70 degrees! It's in an enclosure, so energy wastage is not a problem. I have the simplest Easy Touch system. Anyone have any ideas? Pentair is not responsive. Thanks.

Our Service Manager suggested to go into the settings>circuit functions and make sure freeze protect is disabled on all circuits other than your low speed.

@@prespools Thanks, I'll try that. I have a single-speed pump, but it still should work. Navigating on the basic board is made difficult by Pentair's decision to create an arrow-based navigation menu without an ENTER key. They should win an award for that.

A few things you can try: Press the reset button on the white Pentair Protocol Adapter in your home that is plugged into the router/modem. If this does not fix the issue an update to the protocol adapter may resolve the issue. I had my spa light changed recently, and everytime I hit the spa button to warm it up, the spa starts to drain... Obviously the pool guy hit something to make this happen, I just don't know how to reverse it?

Probably just a coincidence. Either you have a bad valve actuator on the return side or someone may have accidentally turned the actuator off. With a single speed pump there is no need to have a cleaning mode as it is either on or off...filtration and cleaning are the same thing with a single speed pump so your cleaning will happen at the same time as filtration.

Sounds like an aerator

Mark, it sounds like you're talking about the aerator. There is a valve at your equipment labeled aerator that controls the water flow to it. How do you add low voltage landscape lights to Intelli-touch?

Kris C You would need to have an available relay in your Intellitouch and you would have an outlet added that you could plug the transformer for the landscape lights into that would be controlled from your Intellitouch. If you use the Intellibrite Landscape Lights you could even sync the color of your landscape lights with your pool light if your pool light is Intellbrite as well.

He says it a lot but I've taught technical subjects such as this before and it's better to keep asking that to make sure your audience is able to keep up then to assume they will speak up. They won't speak up and then you go on for 10 minutes and have to backtrack when you finally do ask everyone if they understand.

Unfortunately, there is not a simple fix. Did it gradually dim or was it sudden? Pressing the Menu button twice would refresh the display, but if you see nothing you will most likely need to replace the controller circuit board.

Thank you for replying. We can still see some information . We can make out some words an numbers but it's difficult. In winter when the temperature dropped below 32 and it automatically turn on we where able to see the screen. But the next morning it was back to how it was. I'm going home now and I will press the menu button twice to see what happens What do you think?

My remote lost connection in a power surge. How do I get that connected again?

Hard to answer without knowing which remote you have, Pentair has/had three different remotes two handheld and the Screen Logic wifi phone app. They would all be completely different. You can try resetting all the breakers in their pool panel and see if cycling the power fixes it. Otherwise, we recommend calling Pentair customer service and troubleshooting over the phone with them 1-800-831-7133.
