My wife and I just sold our house to downsize in our older age. We bought an 8 foot slate pool table from a dealer in 1987. Today this same dealer has agreed to remove our pool table free of charge. Beats spending $500 for a private mover to do it. Just thought I would mention it if other seniors need the removal of their pool table as well. Cheers

Yes there is a quick set material that must be removed during the disassembly process!! Then the same material is used for reassembly.

Very good I guess, only moved one 4x8 pool table in my life...we just took off the legs and up the stairs in 5 chunks!, Just the 2 of us, yes it was heavy, but we did it!

I have this exact pool table model. It is identical. I just did an inquiry in my town to see who can move this from one room to another. The disassembly is easier than I thought. But the reassembly concerns me. I just watched them using a level, but not sure how to adjust if the level is off.

I really don't know. The previous owner of a house I bought left them and I do not know much about pool tables.

@stripesofadidas Pool Tables come in all sizes and varieties, Which means many bolts and screws and unique hardware. Some tables have a standard range of bolt sizes. Yet many of Manufactures have also made their own unique set ups under the impression that different is better. The slates as well can Vary. The lightest sets can be around 75 to 100 lbs each,8' backed slates are around 200/250+ each, Billiard tables can be around 500 lbs each. Its not always the easiest task.

It hurts me to see you two placing the slates down on the floor one by one and lift and wrap and lift and wrap, then trek a mile to the truck only to have a steep ramp at the end, How's your backs. A bit of advice guys, Look up BCA Slate Dolly. I do this all day long, slate is my nemesis, well staples too ;-). But that dolly has helped in more ways then expected. With the best scenario's and the dolly i can be out the door in under 20 mins. Even with Stairs! Might even work for furniture tops!

how did they detach the slate from the other pieces? was their putty in between the pieces? or were all three loose?
@mhoelzel1429 жыл бұрын
+lookkool3 The slate is screwed into the wood frame of the table. They just removed the screws and the slate comes apart in 3 pieces easily.

The first fold on the dust cover should be in half. This way the dust on the two top halves go against each other and never touches any part of the cover that touches the felt! Then fold the rest anyway you want but be sure to unfold it the reversed order. Why have a dust cover if you put any of the dust side against the felt? Just my opinion.
@northbaymovers5 жыл бұрын
Hello Joel, That cover was never used again. It was thrown away and our customer had just purchased a new cover with his name stitched on it. Good observation!!

3:54 on is a waste of time. Why bother disassembling the base? It's easy to move it in one piece.
@Jason-823 жыл бұрын
late to the party, but the pool table I'm getting tomorrow they're going to have to disassemble that because it wouldn't go in my basement like that
