I remember what an old friend of mine told me when I bought a 3in cowl hood for my coupe and I mentioned I was putting it on unpainted. He said that will look like s**t! I couldnt afford to get it painted but I thought it looked way better than stock! Sometimes it dosent have to match to be cool. Besides my friend was a chevy guy anyway so what did he know! 😂

25 years ago I had a light blue 90 coupe. Had a white cowl hood and a black repop front bumper, when they couldn’t put mustang on the bumper. And it added character. The car became well known and easily recognizable.

i agree with you on that...that was a big bite to take out of a convertable. since this is a poop coupe, and designed to look patched up, chicken wire and a skim of bondo would have been good enough and the ragtop could have been saved. I've had cars that were part kitchen appliance--i bent up a patch panel out of some old washer or fridge found abandoned near the car i pulled out of an old junkyard.

I worked as a dispatcher at a trucking company for years . One truck driver always showed up for work wearing some kind of cologne that I thought was pretty good. I asked him, what cologne are you wearing ? he made a face. Cologne ? just using old motel soap he told me. After a few weeks of bugging him he finally admitted it was Paul Sebastian cologne. This was in the late 80's so they may have more than one fragrance now . I thought it was great and still have some. Still my favorite after all these years. Brew, dont tell me you have 90 weight as a colgone. lets NOT go that far. and no gasoline smelling stuff either. as Biden would say, COME ON MAN

I've ran many a mini-spool, those corners being broke like that happen with a lot of street driving, tight turning, it puts extra stress on those corners. All of mine that had a considerable amount of street driving looked just like that.

Not gonna lie...the patina/ 5.0Tussin style builds really got me lately. Maybe paint just the inside nice and slicked out with some home made dimple dyed floor mats...same with the bay...all slicked out and shiny. These kinda builds look like fun!

Just finished beefing up a ford motorsport t5 so i should be able to not explode this time (fingers crossed) while i did that i decided to hell with it im redoing everything. New gaskets top to bottom. New cam. Timing components. Ordered it all pulled apart my motors found a cracked header primary. So theres an excuse to get long tubes 🤣 once the cams in itll finally be H/C (not getting rid of my cobra intake) witb fbo a built trans, built rearend and suspension. Get a tire on it and i may see a 10 second slip if things keep going tbe way they were before i blew the countershaft 🤣

Found a doner 302 short block for my 302. It's a roller block, but has 4.030 dish pistons with 4 valve reliefs. I'm concerned about compression ration. Should I put flat tops in it or run it with my gt40 heads?

I personally wouldn’t worry about. That would make for a great platform due to compression for some boost later down the road.

Brother, in 90' or 91' the convertible became big again so Ford didn't have a vert body. So they cut the roof off of the coupe and GT bodies. If you look at the wind shields on those particular bodies, the wind shields are more strait up then the true convertible bodies. I worked at Hertz rent a car back then and when the true convertibles started showing up you could tell the difference. The convertible windshields were more laid back.
