The Wildlife Alliance is a well known and respected organization throughout the world. They are committed to wildlife conservation and are well experienced with macaque monkeys. They are doing exactly what Amari and Lori need right now. Giving them all the food they can eat, keeping each of them safely housed, meeting their medical needs, allowing their bodies time to heal in a quiet setting and monitoring their daily progress. Lori can not take care of herself. In this cage she is safe and she has plenty of room to move around. Her body is still healing and although some feel she is lonely she just could not handle the roughhousing of other monkeys right now, her body is still too fragile. It is not the intention of the Wildlife Alliance to keep our girls in isolation forever, they just know they are not ready to be with other monkeys right now. We should be supporting the efforts of this organization in the care of Amari and Lori. They may not be everyone’s picture of perfection but they stepped up to take care of our girls and they are doing a great job!

Decie Lenko Lori is gaining weight so that is a sign that she is getting enough to eat. In other video's there is white medicine on Lori's tail and the VO's taking the video's say her tail is healing fine. Her caretakers do take Lori out of her cage and let her walk around under close supervision to keep her safe, just like you see on this video but Lori can't see so she don't know where to go. So, how do you think they should keep a blind baby monkey safe? Why do you feel her cage is not safe? The branches, should she ever begin to climb again are low so she wont get hurt if she falls and I can't really see anything else in the pen that anyone could say is unsafe for her. She even has a huge stuffed animal to snuggle with. Stumped on this one...

You know what would be really good right now, since this is oh so sad, that my poor heart is just melting to the point I cant take it anymore? Why dont we throw brain damaged Lori in with a bunch of rowdy juveniles? Yeah, thats the smart thing to do! Yeah, and put Lori in with her blind mother too, so she can be dragged around the enclosure and hit her head on everything.....maybe even a good fall from the top of the cage! Hey, it blinded her, it might give her eyesight back! (LoL) In fact, box em' up and send them back to their troope, because releasing Lori back in May when she wasnt healed worked out so great for her! It breaks my heart to see Lori that way I remember her making a sacrifice to always be there for her mother she never abandoned her and made sure she tried as hard as she can to always be there to make her mother feel loved especially when Amari started going blind Lori tried her best and she has the biggest heart in the world I hope she outgrows this condition I pray that she gets better I miss watch all the mystery videos of what was next in the life of Lori is like she has a great big beautiful heart and I do hope that she’s able to outgrow her situation so she can enjoy life

Oh, give it up. I already explained to you that the video of her being "moved" was old footage from when she was first taken to Phnom Tamao. She's not going anywhere. And FYI - the Rescue Center and zoo are on the same property. Even if she's eventually moved to the zoo side it's only two minutes from where she is now.

It's just not safe for her! They still need to bring her in at night to keep her warm and dry when it rains. Plus the medicine they give her in her bottles (and the milk) and they can't battle Amari Everytime. Not to mention she can't hold on to her mom with her back legs at the moment so being up in the branches is not safe at all for her. And yes she did fall from up there when she got to be with Amari. That's horrible for her recovery!

What a cruel fate. This "refuge" is a joke and the volunteers who staff it mean well but are woefully unprepared to care for the monkeys long term. This is the worst thing that could have befallen two monkeys born and raised in the wild. And that slimeball Sochhon. Ugh.

Larry Stultz - That's really disappointing to hear. There are a lot of people busting their ass to help these monkeys along with the other animals that are in their care. They do the absolute best they can with resources that are available to them. Children in the local hospital are laying on the floor or in cots. Think about that. A different way to look at it would be to thank God, you were born, raised and continue to live somewhere under much better circumstances than those in Cambodia. Maybe adjust your perspective & expectations a little. And by all means, if you know & can do better, hop on a plane & go do it.

A simple phone call or google search can list all the staples in a macaques diet as well as the things necessary to provide a proper enclosure .
