$54 million is just 5% of $1 billion dollars . . . even hundreds-millionaires could easily afford this apartment. I would rather have a smaller apartment in NYC to have a home base when visiting and a big piece of land on the northern California coast to live in, perched high above the Pacific Ocean.

Manhattan Penthouses are so high up that most of the sounds of the city streets do not reach their balconies. What sound does reach that high up are completely deadened by very good insulation and often double-glazed windows. The lack of nature's sounds is common in all large cities. Be well :)

I've been fairly high up on both on windy days and you definitely felt motion. ------ "Most skyscrapers can easily move several feet in either direction, like a swaying tree, without damaging their structural integrity. The main problem with this horizontal movement is how it affects the people inside. If the building moves a substantial horizontal distance, the occupants will definitely feel it."

Yes, there is a billionaires row in Manhattan. Honestly, most people who can afford a place like this don't have just one home, so they can have apartments in cities, cabins in mountains, beach houses, etc... they don't have to choose. When looking at real estate like this you do have to factor in the location though, because it is part of the experience of living in the apartment. So many people who live in NYC do not spend a ton of time in their apartments, because there is so much to do all the time. That experience of living right in the heart of the city with central park outside your doorstep is part of what makes these homes so valuable. That plane on the dock is part of the USS Intrepid museum, which is a retired aircraft carrier from WWII. You can go on and tour the ship along with a bunch of planes, a space shuttle and more. I remember going as a kid but they have added so much more since then. It is a fixture along the west side highway in Manhattan.

@@MoreAdamCouser not by far. I did a quick search. one penthouse is selling for 250 million. I'd also mention how crazy high the maintenance fees (HOA) and property taxes must be. but I guess if you can afford to pay 250 million for a condo, hoa and property taxes are just a couple of drops of water. also, I heard that half the condos in billionaires row are actually empty and they're property investments here's something you may find interesting when it comes to property taxes not just in NYC but suburbs as well. the house you bought around 1970 for 20 or 25k now goes for about half a million or more. and you probably end up paying as much in property taxes a year as you did for the house itself. and this is your average house with a yard the size of a stamp. not a mansion with a huge yard.property taxes on a 2 million dollar house can choke a pig

Here in Miami, that place would go for at least $30 million, especially if it was downtown, or the Brickell or Coconut Grove areas and $50 million if it was in Coral Gables - zoning laws prevent it from being anywhere on the Island of Miami Beach. City of Miami Beach zoning laws don't allow for more than 30 stories in a building due to the threat from a hurricane & structural integrity due to wind speeds being higher the higher the building during a storm

OK, if I were that wealthy. I'd buy land for sure, or go to Europe and have a castle lol. But I'd also want to travel the world. Plus GEEZ 😱 THAT'S TOO HIGH!! I couldn't ever even go in it. Screw all that, did ppl never see 9/11?? Imagine sitting to dinner and a plane take you out🤦‍♀️ Sorry no, there's a country song "Buy Dirt" look it up, lots of wise words in that song..❤

Just insane, isn't Adam? Though the views during the day are spectacular, I bet you the night views are even more spectacular! Personally, give me 20-25 acres in the middle of nowhere.

I’d be deathly afraid being that high up. If there’s a fire or something happens to the building your done.. your dead. There’s no way you’re making it all the way down in time. I’d say give me one of those first floor ones and I’ll be good. 👍🏻 Imagine leaving your home and going to Central Park every day!! That would be amazing. Especially if you’re a people watcher like I am. 🤣🤣

no way in fuckin hell would I ever spend that much money on an apartment. especially since it is so high up, with my luck my building would get 9/11'ed the day after I move in.

Bro, this is the building after the twin towers collapsed on 9/11 2001 why are you reacting to the building after bro I swear I am never going to go to this area. I’m never going to Manhattan fuck Manhattan but at least you can see Connecticut and Long Island sound which I don’t think that’s true.

How much for one night? 55 Million... Subsequent nights are free, plus tax...

It cost that much because in New York City 1 in 24 people are MILLIONAIRES!!! Also New York City is the Fashion and Financial Center of the World so you have to consider that.

Adam! If i had $54 million, no I wouldn't have a penthouse in NYC either! No way! Give me at least 100 acres. A beautiful, modern functional house, with wrap around porch, fruit trees, gardens, flowers, pets, and wildlife! I'd be like Snow White and communicate with all the animals! As far as people? Yeah, I'd go to town once a month for supplies! Lol. Love ya ❤

I hate to say it, but since 911 you couldn’t get me to live in a tower.

Many of these apartments are owned for investments but not occupied. Most of the people who have bought these have multiple properties, many of which have 'nature, and birds'. These needle buildings are monstrosities. The people who actually live in them complain about swaying, the creaking noises, cracks and elevators that may stop in wind storms.

$54,600,000 divided by 30 is $1,820,000 for a single night. I think your gofundme is gonna take a while.😅

Oh, and that's most likely 54 million UNFURNISHED lol. Everything in there is just staging by the agent.

Best advice I can give ya mate is to invest that $54M into a juicy investment portfolio that’ll appreciate to about $75-$100M in about 2-3 years and just live off the dividends (you will qualify for a $54M mortgage with both portfolio and average annual passive income). Cheers!
