You know me mate, I find this content hard to watch - cash starved societies who provide the produce for a nation but cant even get enough water - just makes me weep. My Mrs and her family still have all their rice and sugar farms up here in Isaan and the government set the huge sum of 8 bhat per kiko of rice !!! 8 fkin bhat which doesnt even cover the cost of fertiliser while everyone else up the chain make their cut. She cries when we are in the UK seeing the price of Thai rice and comparing it to what she gets. Good on ya for keeping up the tradition of distributing what you can, when you can - ive been doing it since the 1980's and sadly there is still a need, but at least I sleep well at night knowing i am trying to do my bit for those less fortunate but I still cry seeing their tears of happiness when we drop stuff off. Good vid mate, a timely reminder now the rainy season is here.

For the last 2+ years I’ve been following this channel and Travel on Toast Channel to learn more about the motherland my parents came from, Laos. Being Hmong American, its often a wonder about what the world would have been like if the war and conflict in the 1950’s-1970’s had never happened. It’s a complicated time all around the world and I’m happy people like this have been able to share what others have little of. I wish one day to be as giving as this, especially during these hard times around the world as every economy is being flipped on its head.

They said it about 17 to 20 milions kips. It is equal to $1000 to $1300. it cost high because it up high up in mountain more then 50 to 70 feet.

@@koikonlao8430, I was wondering if they can set up a water tower and pump water to it and then run water lines to the remaining part of the village for distribution. Also with all the rain they get during the rainy season, they can have cisterns capturing the fresh rain water for future use. There are imaginative ways of getting and storing water. I may be wrong, but it’s worth looking into if it’s feasible.

Hey brother! Like always,,I'm extremely proud of everyone involved with this project. Beverly seems to be a force of nature. As usual,,I got a case of charitable envy. You know the deal,mate. Makes me wish I could afford a well rig that could be mounted on a 10 ton Fuso or something similar and about 50,000 feet of pipe. I would think the water table in Lao is generally pretty shallow,,probably less than 200 feet ,,so about 250 wells worth but probably more. A good used well rig,,25,000 dollars,,truck in Lao and pipe from Australia or probably the evil empire would be cheaper,,would have to inspect the quality. Aus pipe would no question be of better quality. Nice to dream about. I've helped drill exactly 5 wells,,,when I was a kid,,3 rotary wells at a mine I worked at and my Uncles had and old antique gravity rig,,had a spud bar that weighed 1500 lbs or more. You raised it up thru guides,,then at the top,,dropped it down. Was a slow process. If I remember correctly, it took 4 or 5 days to do a 60 ft well in western Oregon. It would only work in certain types of ground. Not anywhere in Montana lol. I haven't done a good spew in awhile, so here's a good idea for someone with a pocket full of cash.
