@@CowboyKentRollins I would call them cheap crab cakes, the recipe I use for real Poor Man's crab cakes calls for using grated Zucchini instead of crab meat and I make large batches and fill cupcake or muffin pans and freeze them then drop them into ziplock bags for storage in my freezer. The muffin pans keep all at the same size and when you fry them up while frozen they brown up nice and stay somewhat soft in the center even if deep fried. I do the same with my salmon cakes and freeze a large batch for a later date.

I'm Alaskan Native and I'll tell you that "sal-mon" is the proper way to pronounce it but nobody will ever pronounce it that way. I make my poor man's crab cakes with fake crab and diced shrimp. You can also mince up some shrimp to add to the mix, to make the ingredients stick together better. Works nicely with the egg as cake glue. Also use a little panko breadcrumbs in the filling so I can control the flavor of the mix better. Panko doesn't have any flavor like regular breadcrumbs. Next time I make these, I'm going to add a can of minced crab to my mix. Thanks, Ken and Shannon, for another great video. BTW: I had ablation surgery in June 2020. Sounds like a scary procedure, but either I was going to die and go to Heaven, or I was going to survive. A win-win either way! ✝🙏🏻 So thankful to God that your procedure was successful also!!!

Great video! I put out crab pots and catch about 200-300 blue crabs every fall here in tidewater Virginia. They all go into crab cakes, and we have a freezer full that lasts through spring. The patties freeze really well and thaw quickly for frying. My go-to recipe is almost exactly like this -- even the Dijon mustard -- except I use Old Bay since it's sort of the law around here. One trick I picked up a few years back is to form the patty, and then lay it in some crushed Ritz Cracker crumbs and spoon more over the top to coat the crab cake, then pat them in. It makes for an extra crispy crust when frying.

We used to catch blue channel crabs on a trot line in the bay using a trot line with stuff like chicken necks, parts etc. Some folks used crab traps, but we'dget a bushel a day. Either way, crab cakes are my fav.meal, with those onion burgers a clise second. Yeah I was stationed at Ft Sill a few years

My late wife was a nurse and worked mostly the ER with a couple of stints in ICU, pediatrics and obstetrics. I think for a while she helped deliver half the kids in the we lived in. She specialized in pediatric traumatic treatment. She truly was an angel to so many where she worked. Almost forgot my ditch beagle is doing fine and she's getting spoiled by my 91yo mom cooking chicken quarters for her and the other rescue and ditch pets we inherited through the rescue group we belong to and the ditch dogs that seem to be left off along the road and come to our homes. Great video! My wife loves crab cakes, I might be popular soon if I make these! Kent I had the ablation procedure this year and am doing fine. This is my prayer for you. Still on blood thinners, but am off the afib meds…I’ll take that, as did you sound glad, also. Don’t want to get emotional here, but God bless you! and stay in good health and happiness. You bring much happiness to us.

My maternal grandpa died when my mom was 4 and my paternal grandpa is a terrible person. Thanks for showing me the grandpa I’ve been missing out on 😂 I enjoy your videos very much and you seem like such a wonderful man.

@@CowboyKentRollins Thank you, I have to add, the best part of your shows is when you give thanks to all those serving home and abroad. Im Canadian and did my service, what you say makes me feel appreciated even if it was under a different flag, I still can feel the appreciation in standing up and protecting the rights and liberties we all can enjoy no matter what our flag is.

Wooster-shire sauce is the way it is pronounced in the UK, but here in Australia we throw in another syllable and call it Wor-cester-shire . Similar to how Launceston is actually pronounced Lawns-ton in the UK, but here in Australia we say Lawn-ces-ton. I call it Wooster-shire sauce as it was created in the UK so they must know how it is pronounced ... and it is easier to say.
