I am from the east coast. Maine lobster is the best tasting lobster. Add 2 tbsp. sea salt to the water. Good lobster meat always has that brine taste.

I was Navy Spec War in the Pacific for ten yrs. Every dive we would bring up warm water lobster, which is far superior to Maine lobster. More importantly, there is a lobster that is called sand slipper which is the best lobster that I have eaten.

Thanks for sharing this. I myself prefer the warm water lobster over the Maine Lobster. I have never heard of the sand slipper lobster. I will have to look that one up! Thanks for the info! Take Care!

Good Lord A'mighty, take that fish out of the water! It was done 4 minutes before you finally took them out. (It's OK. Almost everyone overcooks fish.) Your fish were caught in the convection cell of the rolling boil -- otherwise, they'd have floated and stayed at top.

I always found the term "Poor mans lobster" funny.... back in the 17th century actual Lobster was "Poor mans lobster" since it was only fed to the financially deprived and prisoners.... Great video though, I'm going to give it a try.
@skoggit
@skoggit 6 жыл бұрын
As history has it, lobster was considered as the lowest of the low and only the poor or like you say deprived prisoners and also slaves were fed this. Now only the rich can afford it. I wouldn't have minded being a deprived prisoner during the day! I would have ate well, everyday! Take Care!

Thanks for the recipe. I tried it. It didn’t taste like lobster to me. I tried it with paprika. I tried some cardonom. I tried some garlic salt. Tried lemon. Dipped them all in butter and I just wasn’t getting that lobster flavor. So I flavored the whole dish with a sprinkle of each that I tried, squeezed some sriracha on it, squeezed some lime on it and poured the rest of the butter on it and mixed it all up. That was quite tasty in case anybody out there who felt it was bland as I did. I enjoyed my fish. I added some lo mein noodles ( you could use fettuccine or even spaghetti) to the water, cooked that for six minutes. The sauce I made was a squeeze of sriracha so you can see how much your working with, melted butter, lemon and lime juice ( fresh ) fresh minced small garlic clove, soy sauce, sprinkle of powdered ginger and a tad bit of sesame oil. The garlic kind of cooks in the butter when you heat the butter up then you add the other ingredients. No measurements. I just did it by eye. Pour that on the noodles, sprinkle a little Parmesan cheese on top ( it makes it savory ) and mix it al in as best you can and enjoy. The fresh taste of the lemon and lime were good and I recon some shrimp would taste good in that. I’ll have to try that next time.

steaming is better than boiling. steam is hotter than boiling water. the boiling water just robbed all the nutrients from the food, unless you plan to drink all that water afterward. Microwaves destroy vitamins so there goes some more nutrition. guess that's why you call this "Lobser" Big hug...
@skoggit

Hey my friend, thanks for all your pointers but for this dish the boiling water is the star player. The sugar adds the sweetness to the fish and the lemons gives the right constistincy to the fish. Thanks again! Take Care!
