Posh areas in Nairobi are , Runda, Muthaiga, Nyari, kitisuru and karen... Westlands and Kileleshwa can pass for upper middle class .

It just shows you how we are being scammed big time in America and the UK. Things are EXPENSIVE in the west because of greed. I haven’t see the same amount of homeless in Kenya as I have in the states and Europe. I would gladly live in the local area if it meant I was spending a fraction of the cost I would be spending in the west. I’m also sure that the less posh area is way more safer than any US ghetto.

roysambu, embakasi, githurai, roosters, buruburu, allsops, kariobangi,donholm,utawala gives Nairobi the culture you think of Kenya, this estates are like americans your comptons, surprisingly anyone who has lived here can go to the posh areas but he will never leave what he learnt over here, appreciation, hustle, friendships, savings most importantly sherehee,,, ( ps ) the connectivity in the houses is good homes are good basically you live poshier staying in this areas than kilimani(middle class), if food is cheap, clothes cheaper, housing cheap then you have more money to spend on your secondary needs, savings and investments

KidGreatness you are the exception not the rule. Alot of Americans will not be able to adjust. To the conditions in Africa, you find amazing and opportunistic. many won't be able to do so. They will start missing and complaining about conveniences and the dysfunction will start to creep in. I am a firm believer is not everywhere works for everyone and not everyone is supposed to travel. A certain personality trait like yours and a few others will be the only ones to adjust in Africa.

I grew up in such a place and its hard to put an a erage income. We had downgraded recently divorced women coming from bourgeois neighborhoods, neighbours barely scrapping by and almost entirely depended on other neighbours for food. Dome owned the buildings snd collected rents from entire apartments, hustlers like the young man there and thieves ... But the comradery was great.

How do you define poor coz this isn't a poor area. Don't be fooled by the infrastructure and the humble hustling. Everyone in Nairobi is a hustler. And life in these estates is far much better than the areas you mention in US but I can tell you already have perception saying people don't speak English?? I love your videos but this one is a letdown- perception before understanding. Try to understand how life here is first, you can't measure USA lifestyle and the expenses to define poverty in a country with less expenses
@KidGreatness
@KidGreatness 4 ай бұрын
I used the words poor and rich to show the dichotomy between the areas. I didn't say people can't speak English. I said people get nervous when speaking to me because I speak very fast. I have been told this many times in Nairobi.

It's just a catchy title KG has about the video. Please watch and listen to his content so you can get a better understanding of what he was showing. He was actually supporting the local businesses and showing that side of humble living versus the upper-class type of living. Nothing wrong with that cause that is Kenya and I love my motherland with all its craziness and goodness. That is life everywhere in the world. Watch before you judge.

@mizzcatt7691Cmon lol.😆, I was pissed seeing this comment as well. I'm an Ethiopian diaspora from Europe, and the OP of this comment, who paradoxically is white based on his profile pic, is deliberately falsely claiming Kid Greatness did something he didn't. Writing something like that is rude and pretty insane. These white people are always trying to create division among black people. Clearly, there exists a significant socioeconomic disparity that can be pretty shocking for us Africans born abroad or Black Americans. When I visit places like Addis, Hargeisa, or certain neighborhoods in Kigali like Nyamirambo, I can't help but appreciate the standard of living I enjoy at home in Europe. There's nothing amiss about this; it's simply gratitude.
