Nice runs! Using that bank for the brakes is to funny! Good luck Pete!🤜🤛

Hi there. Yeah using the bank worked well last year although it did act as a ramp rather than a stop a couple of times. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍

Great passes, Pete. The lost dogbone is a gift to the speed run Gods. They'll show mercy on your next passes due to this sacrifice. :)

good going pete . i came for the crashes 😂👍 sand . the amount my cars bring back i could probably make an artificial beach in my garden
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Hiya Dom. Yeah I think that the design of this one in particular is just perfect for collecting sand. No wonder they are always having to build the beach back up here because most of it is inside my RC's. I think that from now on this is only going to be used on the grass and tarmac. Cheers for watching mate 😁👍

47 is really good Pete, sucks things fell apart at the end there! You need a softer back stop! LOL! I think dog bones outside are the equivalent to e-clips at the workbench, once gone they are gone for good most times!

Hiya Addam. Yeah I was impressed with the speed increase of the extra gearing. Oh it is annoying to break and lose bits. I've got an order in for spares but I think that I might only have another go or two at this as I don't want to keep mending it and spending money. Thanks for watching and good luck with yours 😁👍

Epic speed run you had there Pete 👍 You're only 2 mph shy of your DT-02 Speed time. Anyway, at least you had some fun while achieving your goal 😄 Well Done
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Hello young man. Yeah it's a good start and to be honest I'm not sure if I'll get it very much faster. Might still give the DT-02 another blast to see if I can get the elusive 50mph. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍

Hey Pete, great stuff in this video, lots of sand in your gubbins and a lot of scrapy scrapy Lexan on tarmac sound effects! Oh boy how many times have I lost outdrive cups and dogbones. I never manage to find them as I think they fly off into space or something! But it was worth it for that top speed I'd say. Well done mate! As you say though these cars are a pain to work on - at least it enabled you to get the sand out though! Have a smashing weekend mate. :D
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Hiya mate. Oh yeah it seemed like such a good idea to run this on the beach and at was fun but never again! The Lunchbox is still the best for the beach as the sand doesn't get stuck in it. Anyway yes it's rather annoying to lose these little bits and bobs. I'm wondering if that second run was actually on 3 wheel drive. Anyway I have an order in with Time Tunnel. I think I'm only going to have a couple more goes at this as I'm already fed up with mending it. Good luck with your entry in this one mate. Cheers for watching and have a smashing weekend 😁🍻

47!!! Great speed matey! Shame about the dog bone and drive cup though.....like you say, I think keeping this chassis in one piece is half the challenge! As for those pesky Tamiya servo savers.... Ii don't think that they have evolved at all in 50 years, the upgrade seemed to work well though. Great crashes though buddy, that's always a highlight for me! 😂 Have a great weekend buddy. 🍻 😜 👍 👍 👍

Hey yeah I know people are already getting crazy speeds out of these but 47 in the not very smooth car park is pretty good. I would defo recommend the Kimbrough servo savers and they are cheap too. I'm already getting fed up with working on this car because almost any fix requires you to dismantle a load of other stuff. Be good to get it over 50mph though and then retire. Cheers for your great feedback mate. Best wishes 😁👍

That was a great run, Pete! And of course some nice upgrades implemented, especially the steering is essential... Maybe you should have kept the sand, as ballast, it might help the gyro, he he... And of course the gearing, good job getting a nice mesh when you can't see anything...
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Hi there. Yeah the steering was definitely better and I'm wondering if it was on 3 wheel drive on the second run which is why it was less stable 🤔 Yes it's a bit disconcerting to not be able to see how the mesh is but I seemed to get away with it. Not sure if there are still a few more mph to be had out of this if I can have a few more runs with it. Many thanks indeed for watching. Best wishes 😁👍

Welcome to the lost dog bone team 🧐 And the price of these in Switzerland is insane (let's say around 25 USD for 2...) 😢 I'm not in love with this car right now. It's probably awesome in mild usage, but as a speed car, it's not easy at all. Anyway, great results there, Pete 👍 Congrats 👏 🤝
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Hi there. Oh goodness that is really expensive. I've ordered some here in the UK and the dog bones are £8.30 a pair and the gearbox joints (drive cups) are £5.70 for the pair. Yeah I agree that this car is best built with a standard brushed motor and just driven around some cones in a car park along with other similar small cars. A speed run car it is not. I will have another go at this but not many as it is too much of a pain to work on. Many thanks and best wishes with your entry 😁👍

This is true speed run gold! Using the bank to break will greatly extend the life of your gears 😅
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Ha yeah well it's worked out well in the past but I have lost those bits this time unfortunately. Braking in a controlled way is a bit difficult so this is the method I use. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁

Ha well it was always plan to run the car into the bank where it would have a lovely soft stop and I could retrieve it 🤣 Actually stopping nicely seems far too difficult 🤔 Many thanks for your great feedback 😁👍
@0wl9994 ай бұрын
You should try setting up a Team Associated RC 10T truck as a lowered speed run machine. I'm thinking the weight of the steel chassis and a good high downforce aerodynamic body shell would be amazing. Should be tons of aftermarket hop up parts for it too.😅
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Oh yeah there are plenty of RC cars that would be much more suited to speed runs and I think that this was chosen because it's not really suitable for this. To be honest I'm not really a speed run person. I prefer blasting about in the dirt and doing jumps. Many thanks indeed for your great feedback. Much appreciated 😁👍

When you said you were going to use the bank to help you slow down, I didn't quite understand what you meant... Well... I do now.! 😉 😉 😂 😂
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
Oh yeah well that method worked out well last year and I don't think anything got broken although the car did launch over the bank one time. I think that trying to slow down unsettles the car and it rolls along the tarmac so I think this is less damaging 🤔 Cheers for watching 😁👍
@rc_tom4 ай бұрын
Crazy runs👀 For your mesh setup, wouldn't it be easy to drill a hole in the gear housing like the original one? Just close it up with some tape for the runs.
@PeteWylieRC4 ай бұрын
@@rc_tom hi there. With the Jack o Trades mod the pinion is meshing with the smaller part of the next gear and that's hidden by the bigger part so there is no way to see it, even if there was another hole in the housing. Seems to be meshing ok at the mo. Many thanks for your kind feedback 😁👍

Hey Pete, oh wow! 47mph is certainly some speed, sorry that you lost the dog bone and drive cup, I’m sure in your capable hands, you’ll have it repaired and ready for round three. Not sure how much more you’ll get out of it, is 50mph + achievable? I suppose we’ll have to see. Best wishes to you and the family 😊😊

Hiya John. Oh yeah my patented crashing into a nice soft hedge didn't quite work this time. I've got the bits on order but not sure when they will arrive. I hadn't realised that 3s is allowable in this class so with that it should get over 50mph if I can keep it on the road. Many thanks for watching and best wishes to you and yours 😁👍
