Lyrics:
V1: They’re comin’ for us now. (Coming for us now)
Somehow they found us out. (They found us out)
No sudden moves, don’t make a sound.
They’re out for blood this time around.
We gotta burn it all down.
PreChorus: Today’s the day, revolution’s on its way. (Our time is now)
Hold the line. This is how we’ll be defined. (Just stand your ground)
Give and take only works when both sides really give and take.
The revolution’s on it way.
Chorus: (Look around, what do you know?)
This whole damn place is about to blow.
(Look around, what do you see?)
I see the wolves at bay comin’ after me.
Oh oh oh, oh oh oh, get ready for the war.
They’re comin’ now, yeah they’re right outside the door.
V2: They tried to hold us down. (Tried to hold us down)
But they can’t control us now. (Can’t control us oooh)
PreChorus
Chorus
Bridge: (Door) Break us down more. They want it all! (They want it all)
They’re gonna try to take us all. They wanna see us fall.
Get ready for the war!
Chorus x2

I was ECSTATIC when I saw you made a sequel to “Feed the Machine”! “Feed the Machine” had been in my recommended feed for almost a year until very recently I decided to listen to it. I should’ve listened to it sooner. That song ended up being one of my favorites and a real comfort to me during the recent weeks and all that’s been happening in the world. It perfectly spoke how I felt when faced with real world events, but I couldn’t bring myself tell my friends or most of those around me. It even inspired me in my own art and writings, which I had lost motivation for. The only thing I really needed though was a sense of closure, and “Feed the Machine” didn’t really have that since they were all still trapped in that horrible situation. “Give and Take” gave me that and even hope in an absolute banger of a song and story. Through “Feed the Machine” I found and fell in love with many of your other songs like “Devil’s Price” and “Providence”. I’m so excited for more of your music to come, and thank you again for these amazing songs! They really made a difference for me 🖤

I have to share this with you gentlemen; it's going to sound unbelievable, but on 01/12/2011 my son of few words said "Woman. My world is very different than yours. You can't come into mine; but I come to yours. I see you. Hold your ground. God has a job for me. You know, to teach me the right ways. Even if you think things are going to blow." And then he went back to rocking and humming. He'd over heard his Grammy tell me not to worry about his manners until he was older. Let him be a boy. Nathan is rigid when it comes to being a gentleman. I've always told him, a strong man can walk quietly and do mighty things. I think you represent affirmation of the things I've laid in his heart. God Bless.

"Give and take only works when both sides really give and take." - one-sided compromise isn't compromise at all, more like a ratchet. " Hold the line. This is how we'll be defined" - Holding the line, the opposite of give and take. "This whole damn place is about to blow" and "The revolution's on its way" - What happens when give and take doesn't happen - those who are dissatisfied with the lack of taking for their side will turn to take-only methods. I'd interpret "give and take" in this context as somewhat closer to *political* give and take, rather than economic give and take / market forces.

I see the wolves at bay coming after me Woah, oh-oh-oh, get ready for the war They're comin' now Yeah, they're right outside the door They tried to hold us down (tried to hold us down) But they can't control us now (can't control us, ooh) Today's the day Revolution's on its way (our time is now) Hold the line, this is how we'll be defined (just stand your ground) Give and take Only works when both sides really Give and take The revolution's on its way Look around, what do you know?
