Congratulations on your superbly presented videos - keep them coming! Some more feedback on the subtitles - I understand that burning them in manually avoids the frequent inaccuracies of the auto generated system, but if burnt in ones are necessary I think they should be restricted to a maximum of two lines high to avoid covering too much of the content (and maybe a smaller point size?)

Thank you for sharing these valuable tips, I used your block theme plugin you mentioned in the previous video and was trying to design my own template theme. I wish they would allow us to change the name of the default theme colors, this would make it one step better, however since I started off working on WordPress 6.2, I thought all the features you presented here were already part of the standard, so am glad you showed off the fact that these are new features in 6.2 - Thanks for the share.

Hey, Jamie! Thank you for always keeping us in tune with all the new features when they are released. It is greatly appreciated, and I agree (after learning about it from you) the new Style Book is a really nice addition. I do have a question for you, and I hope you know the answer. ; ) I have added a variety of blocks I have created to the block patterns. Do you if it is possible to delete a pattern that I have added? I have poked around to no avail. Thank you so much, and happy April to you!

Great walktrough on WP 6.2. If i may add a constructive remark: I personally find the new subtitles rather distracting. For those rare occasions when I want to see subtitles, I turn on the automatically generated subtitles from KZbin.

I like the direction Wordpress is going. I wonder if it would be possible to have the CSS code of the blocks somehow generated into the style.css file rather than directly into the page code.

Hi Jamie, thank you for another video on WordPress 6.2, One question I must ask, why have you started placing subtitles on your videos, this is the second one to have them. What is the thought behind it?

It's something im testing out for a few videos - let me know what you think - the only feedback i've had so far is a negative. What got me thinking about it was that all my kids (and their friends) watch all TV now with subtitles turned on. After speaking to them, it seems this is so they can multitask. I've also noticed quite a few other youtubers add subtitles by default. But let me know if you like them, or not :)

@@jamiewp Hi Jamie, That makes it more understandable, I am an old fart and love the screen to be clear, it is like the no-screen TV idents, I hate them too. Could you make the subtitles smaller then? So they don't hide what you are trying to show on the screen?

Obviously fully in support of making things accessible for those that need/want it, but I'd quite like to be able to see what you're doing! 🙂

The Text Style Book looks A LOT like what comes with Thrive Architect... Miss that feature: it was a great way of styling and seeing the styles of the text... Good move from Gutenberg to implement something similar.

About the subtitles, I see that there are a lot of criticisms. Yes of course they can be smaller. But English is not my language, I'm French, and it's really useful for me! THANKS

thanks that's great to hear - im running a poll in the community section and it's current 52% against subtitles, 48% for subtitles. Which incidentally is the same % as the Brexit vote in the UK 😬🤔

Like what you are doing. However I learn from watching and listening. I'm slightly dyslexic and the set caption subtitles are very distracting. Good for others I may add. If I go to visual block for subtitles and click display, then I get another set of subtitles under the subtitles. Is there a way to view your videos as normal. Subtitles should be my choice. The option is and has always been there for me. I just choose not to use it. Thank you.

Jamie, the subtitle is really annoying, specially because there is a more natural way of doing that which is the subtitles that KZbin allows you to use. Please use that.
