It's now one year later and I wonder if Yoast regrets his comments here? He has now implemented AI into his plug-in and I'm seeing dismal results (SEO wise) after using AI for page titles and descriptions. I think it's still best to have human based content on at least the home page for now.

Hi Chip - he sold that plugin a few years ago , he's no longer involved in it.

Sooo, what if there is no "Edit Site" option and therefore no direct way to edit templates?... All I see is "Customize Site" (which is just the typical live theme settings option and not a block editor) and the usual "Edit Page", which is the block editor but of only that page, no left menu that gives any access to template files.... Ig that is different per theme, then would've been crucial to state that in this video...😲

My main issue with page builders is the ability for clients to manage their own content. Sure, you can use ACF, Metabox or JetEngine to build a backend, but it still frustrates a few of my clients who require a proper CMS that actually looks like the page itself.

This was pretty shocking, he 100% has not used this tool in any real world kinda way before on his own and you can see it. I dont think it was fair that Jamie was coaching him as he did the challenge either. Also comments off on the main channel. Did we get to see the finished sites? What was the code like, the speeds etc, this really was only a very simple look at basic visual mockups from a pretty easy to clone site too I might add. No real nested blocks at all, even the most basic things Guts was slow to do. Would love to see the actual sites side by side in a browser.

Lovely people, with a few facepalm moments in there. Working with WP day in day out we can take it for granted how to approach these layouts and styles. Always enlightening to watch someone (Matt) try to wrestle with it when it's not his daily work. Super crucial to go through these exercises regularly when you're steering the direction and priorities of the product. Not to take anything away from the nerves and pressure doing a live stream speed build! Now, if only we could get a pro like Kevin Geary into one of these speed builds with proper tools, and watch this page come together in less than 15 minutes with full best practice, no apologies or excuses, and actually look like the original site... then move on with life. Added bonus: have Jamie throw random change requests in at the end of the initial build and see how quick it's handled with real pro tools and methods. THAT would be entertaining and widen some eyes! 👀 🙂
