@@alicesings1971 Yes, we were fortunate to have Queen Elizabeth for 96 years and as the Monarch for 70. Here's an interesting piece of trivia: A staggering 94% of the world’s population was born after Elizabeth became Queen; many never knew of a time when she wasn’t present.

Fantastic story Neil ! We are all human but the gracious majesty Queen Elizabeth seemed to have a special glow about her. I’m sad she is gone since I never got to see her in person but I’m happy she’s safe in the arms of God. You really are an amazing ambassador for the Royal family. My favorite picture with a laughing Queen Elizabeth 2 and prince Philip is the picture taken after bees invated the place where Queen Elizabeth 2 and Prince Philip did their duty. I don't remember what the occasion was about but Prince Philip was wearing one of his uniforms. This picture was taken a few years before they died but they still were giggling like teenagers. So lovely to see.

You are so right Neil. Or beloved late Queen chose her spouse very, very well. I don't know of any man of the Empire and Realms who didn't have enormous respect and admiration for Prince Philip and I can well imagine he rattled many a cage of the 'men in grey suite'! He certainly got things done though....didn't he?

Prince Phillip was definitely a fearless innovator, but in a very practical manner. If something had a timely and measurable benefit he seemed to work hard to see it through to implementation. He did wonderful things for the UK and Commonwealth as well as keeping stern control in family matters and, of course, the support he gave to our late Queen was simply incomparable. Another interesting story and what an unexpected pairing of Frank Sinatra and Prince Phillip - many thanks Neil.

The late Queen and Prince Philip had a truly inspiring love story. We all know the beginnings of their courtship and it angered me when Harry implied that he was the only one who married for love. Such arrogance! Oprah sure didn’t correct him.

What an arrogant pr*ck! He did not marry for love, she tricked him and he was in lust, not love! The Queen and Prince Philip were married for 73 years; Edward and Sophie married for 25 years;William and Catherine married for 13 years but have been together for 24 years. King Charles and Camilla have been married for almost 20 years and Princess Anne and Sir Tim have been married for 32 years!

I met him with my school friends when we were 13 when the Queen came to open an officers mess at the Naval Base. We were waving our Union Jack 🇬🇧 and waving and then he came over and we panicked and said what do we do and one of the boys said we bow and you curtsy. We called him Sir your highness and then he asked if we were all enjoying the day off school and we yelled YES and he said “well aren’t you all glad that I decided to come today “! We went quiet and looked at each other cos we didn’t know what to say and then he started laughing so we started laughing too. 😊

The closest I know of him complaining was when a reporter asked him what language he spoke as a child at home. His answer "What home?" Like his eldest son, he spoke several languages, but unlike his son, he never had a place to call home until he married. Just a refugee who was shunted from one country and relative to another.

I loved Prince Philip too. He's one the main reasons that I'm so disappointed in Harry and how Harry acts like he's the only one in the royal family that's ever been hurt by the rules of the Monarchy and by the press. Prince Philip was put through the gambit, and he kept on swinging through all of it, while remaining loyal to the Monarchy. I love the photo with Frank Burns in the background and I really liked this video.

Love Prince Phillip, and I'm under no illusion that he didn't enjoy each and every one of the battles he found himself in or instigated 😀 I think one of QEII's difficulties was to find things to keep him amused that gave him self worth. She was very aware of the fact he sacrificed his own personal ambitions in order to serve her own self sacrifice to her Crown & Country. You could see they both respected eachother immensely for this mutual, humbling understanding.
