For myself, I appreciate it when the whole process is shown missteps and all- to edit out "mistakes" only makes me feel less competent in completing a craft when I make a mistake. I enjoy your tutorials and the ease and patience that you keep moving on, even if there is a glitch.:)

I can tell my brain isn't totally working yet this morning. When you said a pop up box for A2 cards I thought you were making a box that would lift up the cards inside the box so I didn't need to struggle grabbing cards. lol I'm blind so I could not see the "pop-up" elements at first. Beautiful idea once I gathered what you were doing. Thanks for another great project! 😊💗

I'm adopting "mistake area" for all of life.😁 My youngest son said once, during a "discussion" he was having with his older brother: "So, I was off a little." Became a family saying---going on for 30 years now.❤

What a great little box, you make it look easy to do. Too funny when you where deciding how best to put the lid on the binding, I’m telling you out loud “lay it down”. That’s the first time I tried to talk to a KZbin video! Btw I learned to lay it down from you a few minutes before that, so I’m no expert just a good student.

(PLEASE READ ChaCha Dodds's comment below mine....I'm going to start using Borax rather than cornstarch as well) I started using corn starch to remove the stickiness when I was doing the Photo Play So Loved Card Kit. It works great and it's what I had on hand :)
@chachadodds58606 жыл бұрын
Connie Johnson....I see/hear this suggestion all the time lately, but would caution against Cornstarch because the little vermin that love to eat the glues, etc. in books, will be instantly attracted to your projects. Cornstarch is a sugar, & you know how yummy sugar is. This is especially true in humid climates, but just as applicable in arid climates like Arizona, where I live. I use Borax, as this contains no starches or sugars, & is actually lethal to bugs. I use Borax on my thresholds to keep scorpians from entering my house. Works beautifully. Note: borax is not toxic to humans, it repels &/or kills bugs by scoring micro cuts in their outer body/shells, & they dehydrate to death. You can find this in the laundry aisle of your local grocery store.
@conniejohnson53986 жыл бұрын
Thank you sooooo much! It makes TOTAL sense. I should've recognized this about the cornstarch! Thank you for the tip on Borax, which I have sitting in my laundry room already :) I will remember this when it comes ant time again as well!

I just had a thought that Dollar General has decorative little chipboard boxes that sell for $1. You could buy one of those boxes and add the insert and pop-ups in one of those little boxes and not have to make the box part. There might be some size differences but I bet a person could adapt the measurements for it to work!
@donnaswain96236 жыл бұрын
Maymay...I love this box!!! BUT whenever I make my cards, I always make envelopes for them. The envelopes are larger than the cards, at least mine are...is this box large enough to also accommodate the envelopes??? I’m a BIG fan of yours!!! 🤗😘
@bcrafty126 жыл бұрын
She showed the envelopes she placed in there first and cards on top. If you're worried about the size...add 1/4 of an inch to your measurements. As well as the cardstock etc.
@MaymayMadeIt6 жыл бұрын
My envelopes are standard A2 which are 4.37 x 5.75 inches. I made the box to fit the envelopes. Hope that helps.

Maymay Made It Crafts...thank you for your response! I have the WRMK punch board that does the bows, envelopes & boxes. My problem with this board is that the numbers/directions are so microscopic that I cannot read them. I cut my envelopes by the punch board numbers, at least I thought I did; however, after scoring, folding & gluing, the envelopes were too small!!! How frustrating is that!!! That’s the only reason I was a little concerned about the envelopes fitting into the box. Thanks again!!!

I just made the box. You said to share it, how do I do that? I love the little box but I do have concerns about the sturdiness of it. The edges and corners seems real weak. And seems that I make larger cards but that is fine because I will use it for my change when I empty my pockets.
