Excellent video! I've had a pop up for 30 + years and found this video very helpful, especially the regulator section. I just found your website today and subscribed. Good luck and keep em coming! I currently own a 95 Coleman so I'm looking forward to browsing your store and ordering LED lights from the first video of yours I watched. Thanks!

This was a great video, thank you. I have a 1999 Coleman Chyanne with a very old regulator but room for 2LP tanks. I was wondering how I would be able to go to a two bottle system in this video showed me very clearly.

You're my popup guru! I have a 2006 Fleetwood Utah. My water heater, I believe is a suburban and is old, has pilot light ignition. I was wondering if you have any info on switching out for a direct spark unit. I understand it will require a 12V source and inside switch. Is there any info on the wiring? Thank you
@popupcamperpro
@popupcamperpro 2 жыл бұрын
Your power is already there. Even manual light water heaters require 12 volt to run the control board and gas valve. The direct ignition heater should be an apples to apples replacement for you.

Great video! This video answered so many questions, but I'm left with 1 question: I have a 2001 Coleman Utah with a single LP tank, and the regulator setup you show (3:50 in the video). I want to convert it into a 2 tank system with the auto switch over also like you showed (7:55 in the video). The question I have is this: When I hook 2 tanks to the dual low pressure auto change over regulator, the inside equipment is all set, but how to I hook the high pressure regulator up to feed the outdoor grill from both tanks? If I use the high pressure tee (6:15 in the video), can I use the 1" 20 connector to hookup a 16psi high pressure regulator that goes to the hard line and eventually to the outdoor grill and the type 1 outlet to go to my low pressure auto change over dual regulator?

You just need to pipe one tank to the hp line before the Lp regulator. Unfortunately you won’t be able to use the hp stove when that tank empties.

Thanks for the easy to understand information. I have a question now that I understand how I can add a hi pressure connection to my propane tank (to run Coleman stove) I purchased the T connection and 12' hi pressure hose.. can I permanently install this hose to the underside of my pop up? Basically I want to trace the route of the lo pressure hose and make connection available on the side of my camper. I am concerned about having a cap on the hose end- so it can travel and generally hang out there permanently. Thanks for any info on this. Gotta run and watch another of your videos!

My ‘03 Utah has auto changeover upgrade. However, only the left tank feeds both high and low pressure appliances. When this tank is empty, quick switch over to right hand tank means outside stove is inoperable. That appliance is the one we use most. This means getting under bunk and switching tank positions which totally defeats the purpose of the auto change over upgrade. Can auto changeover be installed such that both tanks can feed both high and low regulator appliances?

Since I have not yet attempted this I cannot comment on how it would work. My initial thoughts would be to add 2 extra street T's, and an extra HP regulator. It may be easier to just point to the opposite LP tank when not using the outside connection. In this instance, the LP is being pulled from the tank without the HP connection, leaving the other with more LP for the daytime outside cooking. I hope this is helpful! If you do go with a LP system design modification, please have an RVIA certified repair center preform a safety test after the modification on the propane system before you use it.

I am new to pop ups and I got a pop up Newport year 1990 problem i don't have the "support brackets" for the propane bottle to stay put. Not sure what the term is called so I can locate it on Colemans website. They don't have a manual for the Newport either. advise!!
@popupcamperpro

Hello Mateus! Your brackets are called J hooks. Search that networks or take a look at the LP section at colemanpopupparts.com. We also have your book available. For more assistance with this, please take a look at our video “how coleman part numbers work” kzbin.info/www/bejne/labQnGONp6erqpo

Very easy. Unscrew it from the wall, snip the (2) 12 volt wires, rewire a replacement and reinstall.

Good questions Mark. You can add a second hose, or purchase a complete new how to the length that you require. It would go from the plenum line (under the camper) to the auto changeover regulator.

Great video. I’m new to the camper world and have a question. I recently bought a Coleman Sun Valley pop up, and it had no propane bottle rack or battery rack. I installed a double bottle rack and built my own battery rack with angle iron, but didn’t know there was a difference between high pressure and low pressure valves. I have an outside high pressure cook stove and inside I have a regular stove and fridge. The regulator I bought is a dual bottle setup but it won’t run the outside stove. How or what should I be using to run everything? Thanks.
@popupcamperpro
@popupcamperpro 3 жыл бұрын
Good question Mike! Using a manifold tee, you can pipe a high pressure regulator off the bottle before the low pressure regulator. You can also install a high pressure adapter tee like we show at the end of this video, that has the 20 threads for the high pressure appliance.
