Just been watching a Des Taylor upload and he says he does 90pc of his piking with the pop up quite high looked around 2ft off the bottom.

I take it at the end of the trace your still putting a led on? So the legs on the bed and the trace can then float up? Is that right…

Tried a smelt for first time last night. It floated by itself. Had to add a 1g splitshot on the leader

I went and bought all the pike pro rigging wire ect and done the same as the demo…….it floats like the titanic.

Which balsa sticks did you get? In my experience you need the large ones (which are always sold out). The medium and small ones have the buyancy of a rock. This method is really good and much better than the polyballs which put off the pike, especially wary ones. Try and get your hands on the PikePro large ones and you're golden.
