Some things I've learned from vending: 1. I don't go to places I'm invited to cause that means they aren't a well established pop up that many vendors are wanting to get into and they're trying to find vendors by asking around vs an online application 2. Low booth fees is a red flag. Some can surprise you with sales, but really researching the previous pop ups with them will tell you why it's cheap. I've has successful low booth fee events but it's cause I knew about previous events being great. 3.indoor events rarely bring in big crowds in my target market especially since they rarely market this event properly 4. Only 1 table at 6ft per vendor is a red flag meaning the event isn't big 5. Last minute invitations into events is also a red flag, like the event is in 1 month and they're still looking for vendors is a no for me. When I 1st started, you don't know this so you try everything to understand and get experience but losing money trying these events without researching can be costly

Even though the low key events aren’t super profitable, sometimes it’s a welcome change to have a really chill, low stress day!

Hi Monica! I love your content and am prepping for my first market as a vendor. Something I thought that may benefit you is having tester/sample candles that you put out on your super cute tiered displays, but actually giving buyers pre-boxed candles when they make a purchase. I think it would really help your brand stand out (especially around the holidays when people are buying gifts), and you mentioned they sometimes get a little dinged up when you go to fairs, which the boxes could prevent. I know you’re super mindful of sustainability, so adding more packaging isn’t ideal. I’m always trying to balance that myself. Thanks for being a great resource, and looking forward to your spring/summer season!

I'm DEFINITELY trying to work on getting nicer product boxes for my candles! They're pricey...and I don't have space to stock too many in my crafting space, but I def agree that it would totally be worth it!

Hi from NZ…..love your setup. Just a question on your wise pad and Shopify POS. Do you record your cash sales on it as well? If so, does Shopify deduct the fees for the cash sales ? Thanks in advance. You are an inspiration.

What size is your banner for your table? I plan on using your code but don't know what size I need for a 8ft or 6ft table.
