Thank you so much for this tutorial. It was very helpful. It was exactly what I was looking for. I had to laugh when I saw you book, because I am pretty sure I own that book. Now I will have to go find where I put it. I do many cards for friends and family but my favorite is to make a pop up card. You made my day!!!

Very nice card: you're great! Please can you make a tutorial using a xmas tree on a twisting mechanisms?
@thepop-upchannel49197 жыл бұрын
In tutorial 37 I show an example of a Christmas tree based on a Twisting Mechanism. First make the Twisting Mechanism then make a pyramid 9Tutorial 21), and use the Twisting Mechanism to lift it.

Thanks: I'll try, but I don't know where and how to add the Xmas tree vase . Thanks for answering me, you're really nice and your tutorials are the best !

I'd like the correct dimensions for the roof not to stick out the card. This pop up is a better size than the one on the little house. Thanks; I will appreciate it.
@thepop-upchannel49194 жыл бұрын
Every pop-up has different dimensions - for your individual design you will need to experiment to find the best sizes.

How can I make the twisting more intense?
@thepop-upchannel49198 жыл бұрын
+박현서 The Twisting Mechanism is composed of six planes and seven gullies - all the planes can be extended by sticking longer, interesting shaped, pieces on - the gullies can also have extra 3D pieces built into them (See Tutorial 8) which can in turn be extended. Robert Sabuda's pop-up Book "The Night Before Christmas" has a beautiful example (under the flap on the second spread) of what can be done by adding extensions to this mechanism. Experiment!

Although I've been making (struggling with) pop-ups for years, your book & videos have helped immensely to de-mystify the mechanisms. Thanks so very much!

Is it possible to put a box on the twisting mechanism ?if yes, how? Thank you so much for your amazing work!
@thepop-upchannel49193 жыл бұрын
You could play around with adding the techniques explained in Tutorials 22 and 5. If you mean the type of box explained in Tutorial 14.... well that's very tricky but maybe possible, and difficult to explain.

I'm amazed, I love your videos, a fantastic job. It would be great if someday we (the Spanish speakers) could watch them with subtitles. I speak a little English, but not enough to understand everything you say. Otherwise, I would gladly subtitled it.

Hi Duncan. I am making the Pop and Twist card. My card base is 7x5 and it is matted with foil. My panel is 9x3 and the mechanism is 8x3. When I open the card, the mechanism pulls away from the card base where I have the panels attached. I even tried a 7x3 mechanism and it still pulled away from the base. Any thoughts on a solution?
@thepop-upchannel49195 жыл бұрын
Without seeing a picture it's really hard to guess what the problem is. Maybe the panels are attached to the wrong part of the underlying mechanism? I'd probably try making the underlying mechanism first - when that's working well then add the two middle panels that go on top - if those are working well then add the two outer panels. Working step by step like this you should be able to see where the difficulty is.

@@thepop-upchannel4919 I emailed you some photos. I forgot, I used Scot-Tape and I tried Red line Tape. Thanks.
@thepop-upchannel49195 жыл бұрын
I've looked at your photos - hard to say what the problem is - I think maybe you've made it with the wrong angles - all the angles on the mechanism need to be 45 degrees. I think your best approach would be to make one the way I explain in Tutorial 17 - hopefully that will work and then you can compare that with the one that's malfunctioning.
@angelastrickland24725 жыл бұрын
@@thepop-upchannel4919 Ok. I'll work on the angles. Thank you.

Hello sir.. This middle should exactly be 45 degrees or can be any angle..?? Thanku so much in advance
@thepop-upchannel49195 жыл бұрын
Other angles are possible - remember to keep it symmetrical. The best thing is to experiment - just use small pieces and play around - find out what works and what doesn't work.
