I'm a retired film rerecording mixer - started back before there was any automation --- nothing , nada . Mixed mostly on the Neve DFC ( digital film console ) and later on Euphonics and Protools . We film mixers ride the faders like demons and I've noticed that music mixers usually leave the faders alone and do things " wide swath " with plug ins . I usually used an 1EQ , 1 compressor ( Waves R Comp ) and the Lexicon 480 reverb . The real stuff happens with the faders . Thanks for showing how you work and sharing some of your tips .

amazing content, the difference its that sometimes home studios like my case we dont have that quality sound in microphones and preamps so we need more tricks to get something closer to this result.

I struggle sometimes with wondering if I cut too much midrange from the vocal. Seeing this man cut 1 db, dynamic cut 2b, to then ssl eq cut another 6db of the low mids made me feel at ease😂🎉

So my question should have been the best way to be patient with learning my craft while meeting so many that seems to become more excited than me when seeing my excitement about starting school till they are already trying to hire me. I have a history of being like well ok since I'm learning i guess i can use your project as my class project. The work gets done and i learn but it seems so much harder than just learning normally. Do people throw themselves at you to do every little job? Im sure they would if they could always find you but how do you handle that? Do you put them on a wait list? Back burner them for some time, because that just came to me that i may need to do.
