Lovatics are overrating Demi's technique recently. A4-C#5 Tie Above C#5-Ailee wins Demi: Beautiful mid belts with an excelent support and resonance, but her upper belts are just a no. Ailee: Mids belts and Upper belts (up to F5) are wonderful and resonant. Above F5 is like demi, pushing (But in my opinion she has ease in her whole upper belts area even straining). Also her head voice is well developed and supported up to B5. Then Ailee wins

I'm a lovatic but let's be honest, I found Ailee less strain than Demi in uppers belts. But you're not choosing the best of Demi, sometimes ones of the worst like her 2nd F5 in WWWY. Demi's weaknesses are head voices and sometimes she use to be nasal in uppers belts and sometimes strain more often after C#5. C5 is her best note tho. She still improve a lot since her debut with time. I don't listen to K-Pop so I can't tell a lot about Ailee ^-^ Just she seems have a better technique while I find her uppers belts strain after F5 :/ Ailee wins but still prefer Demi's voice and emotion ^-^

Albeit Demi was the one who brought out my passion for music, Ailee definitely wins this one. Because even if Demi's sung a lot more high notes since the removal of her tonsils, her singing has always sounded strained to me post-rehab. Hitting the notes strongly and sustaining it doesn't mean her technique is good. Ailee, on the other hand, seems way more relaxed and at ease, and her belts are pleasing to the ears.

This was a good comparison because both have very pushy upper belts. I've listened to Ailee's work and it makes sense why Demi more well known. But Ailee is a superior technician.

Technique wise, I would go with Ailee. But Demi conveys a lot more emotions and she can actually connect with her songs since she wrote most of them.
