I only became a Swiftie last year and I decided not to listen to the Scooter versions and to wait for her rerecordings to experience them for the first time. I admit, I couldn't resist Reputation and 1989 because....um, DUHHHHHH , but now I got to experience Fearless for the first time. Can't wait for Red, self-titled and Speak Now and also 1989 and the one I'm most excited for, REP! Taylor really was right. She builds a castle out of the bricks they threw at her. And in a way, WE are the ones winning because WE get to hear new songs. Fearless is thirteen years old but the songs still slap today. I mean I heard them for the first time just last week and I was blown away. Forever And Always(both versions), Fifteen, White Horse, Jump And Fall, Change, Love Story, You Belong With Me, We Were Happy, Mr. Perfectly Fine and You All Over Me are just perfection. Also,I doubt this is about making money. I really do believe she wants to send a message to those two rats. They have her past frozen behind glass but she has herself and we, her fans. Pretty sure Borchetta is now cursing her name, wishing she stayed since her rerecordings have turned into his worst fear: running out of money.

Also she's really re introducing herself as an artist to the newer generations, making herself more known to the gp, scooter is ended, and also the noise this is making will make artists aware of the state of their music legacy and will want to have full control, this probably will make labels to re think about the way they sign artists which is great

I think we also have to take into consideration human emotions. It is ethically right that an artist owns their art, but it's also a matter of emotional attachment. I don't know Taylor, obviously, but from her songs she seems to be a deeply sensitive and emotive person ( I mean this in a positive way). I have a similar personality and I still keep all my school projects, my school notes, "plays" I've written etc... They're all part of me, they represent concrete memories of my life, there's an emotional meaning to them. So I guess she is deeply attached to her songs and I cannot even begin to understand how emotionally devastating it must be for her to not own parts of her life, songs that are part of her identity basically, and see them go from buyer to buyer, to people that see her work as mere profitable assets (especially considering that the first buyer was someone she disliked). Sorry for the super long comment.

I think this is the most admiring thing about her and something that we should all apply in our own lives, turn every bad situation into an opportunity to be successful. I love taylor's music, but what I admire the most about her is how smart she is to make gold out of situations that felt like death in the beginning

Personally, I think Taylor has already reached at her peak in her career, she has also already proven us that she is still one of the most successful artists of all time. By rerecording of her albums I think that she isn't trying to gain the same success the one she had with Fearless for example. She just wants to own what's been hers all along. Personally ever since Lover came out, I began to be interested in her a lot and honestly.. I myself became a swiftie and couldn't help but think what she has in-stored in her discographies. The only one I haven't fully heard was indeed Fearless. That's when I was like:"I will wait for the rerecorded version of it so that I can fully enjoy the body of Work" and it was a ride for me and I can definitely see why she released the rerecorded version of this album first. It's a perfect starting point of owning your own music. My personal top 5 are: 1. Breathe ft. Colbie Caillat 2. You are not sorry 3. Fearless (title track) 4. You belong with me 5. The other side of the door. From the vault I really loved mr. Perfectly fine and That's when with Keith urban. And it's crazy for me that it's been almost 2 years since I've started listening to her more often. From Lover I went to RED, speak now, 1989, Reputation and debut (I know weird order) And Now with folklore and evermore being released last year, I am just so impressed with her artistry. People will still hate on her cause they have nothing to do with their poor and needy lives but I think she can reach the legendary status when she releases #13th album 😂 Long story short, I have had an amazing journey of listening to Taylor's music. Awesome video! Regarding people’s argument of her being the “bigger person” by not re-recording her old music, and just focusing on the success of her latest albums and future projects makes no sense considering the owner of her masters can simply stop her from performing her own old music, as we’ve already seen from her documentary and her Artist of The Decade performance. Her new albums are amazing, but as stated at the beginning of the video, her old music is what brought her to this level of success, simply leaving it behind and letting others tell her when she can or can’t perform them is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard from some people.

I'm actually very excited for these re-recordings. I woke up early last Friday and got to Target as they opened. I'm pretty sure I was the first person in my city to buy Fearless TV because they hadn't even put it on the shelves yet. I'm most excited for the vault tracks and the little surprises she'll throw in there. Ironically, this is actually the perfect time to work on and release these. Touring has been off the table for over a year now, and she does all her interviews by screen. What else is there to do? Something else though I noticed, for Fearless TV, she included Today Was a Fairytale. Does that mean she'll be including any and all movie soundtrack songs she released throughout her career like Eyes Open, Safe & Sound, Sweeter Than Fiction, etc? If so, what happened to Crazier?

A songwriter/producer. The domain girl in her generation with many hit songs. The ARTIST OF THE DECADE in her generation. Super talented. But the label did something bad at her. Had issues that media potrayed her in the hardest times. But she keeps on holding on and making music no matter what. Shout out to Mariah Carey and Taylor Swift 🙇🏻♂️

While I'm not really a fan of her music (other than reputation tbh that's her only album I like, don't intend this in a mean way) I think what she has done here is very good. Her old label just wanted her to give them money. Her re-recording them makes it easier for her to perform them live etc and shows her old label that they can't get what they want from her.

Also, I dunno how touring works but if she chooses to use her older songs she’s probably have to go back to Big Machine to request for the right to use her older songs and stuff and pay them. I KNOW she doesn’t wanna do that so she’s rereleasing it under Republic and she can freely use her work

i feel these re-recordings will drastically decrease the value of the original masters and nobody will want to buy them as the taylor's versions will have the most visibility and popularity on streaming services, which may lead to taylor eventually being able to buy the original masters back. People who say she should leave her previous albums behind and focus on the future are definitely not artists of any kind, it's so unfair to tell an artist to wipe their entire discography and move on just because she released 2 albums last year? i have a feeling this mindset is rife with jealousy. I'm an artist and i have been blocked from #1 positions on itunes because of taylors albums, am i pissed about it? no, people put way too much emphasis on having a #1 or you're a flop, i own all my masters and i'm excited for taylor to eventually be able to say this too.

@@popdissected4400 yes :) I have been making music for 11 years now, I can't imagine not owning my own music especially taking the time to write and make the melodies so I'm very excited for Taylor to own her masters, people also forget she's the reason apple music paid artists when it first launched, they planned to pay nothing to artists for like the first 3 months and Taylor made them backtrack within a few days.

I think it's important to remember that Taylor has written every single song on her albums, and she was inspired on her own life since she was 15. This is not an artist that worked with writers, she is a songwriter that included other writers in her art. These songs are all little parts of herself, he loves, hopes and tears. She rarely made a song for the fun, most were her way of dealing and coming to terms with events and feelings. And they didn't gave her the chance, a fair chance, to own such a big part of her life's work. It's just messed up. But yeah, go listen to Fearless (Taylor's version)!! And support artists being able to own their work ❤️✌🏼

I tthink she can televised the performance of the first 5 albums as they lapsed the 5 year period. That's why in the City of Lover concert the performances in the Reputation were not included.
@misha91043 жыл бұрын
They had to give her permission to perform and record them and put them on youtube. She can perform those songs but couldn't record the performance because then that would be considered as "re-recordings" before the stipulated time(so she could get fined or have a lawsuit done against her for going against the contract) so she went on social media told everyone they weren't allowing her to perform them and well they eventually had to cave, she has the right to perform them since she's the main songwriter but she can't record it and put it online now she can because after november she's allowed to re-record, this was also the reason we didn't see her sing her old songs in city of lover concert on disney+ she did perform a lot of her old songs at the concert but she couldn't record it

It should be owned because it is HER ART. She is spreading awareness abt owning the art they make. If Scott amd Scooter are so kind as they were tell on Instagram at that time time when the controversy was on then they should have given opportunity to Taylor to buy her albums. Why didn't they do that. Where was your kindness?? Every kindness disappears when money comes in between. Its all abt money money money. @popdissected44003 жыл бұрын
Hm. I would say longtime fans may prefer the new versions because they provide the same nostalgia honestly, especially after she's gone so far in her career and been through a lot. It gives these songs new meanings. I also think longtime fans would likely have been by her side during the masters debacle, so I'm sure they support the new versions too.

Braun and Borchetta really can't sell the original music to other media (movies, etc) since they still need Taylor's approval for that since she still own some legal rights towards them... Not sure if its called sync rights but they just can't use it on other form of media because she is still the songwriter for that and also the producer... Like its a wrong move not selling the masters to Taylor really... The originals will be less valuable and unusable on other form of media anyways... Its like they try to keep an investment on that but its walking dead... You can't earn money from it if its not approve by Taylor
