Having had an abortion kept me from Confession for many, many years. I went back to the church of my youth (Latin Mass) and gathered courage to go to the confessional. Father was kind, but asked me if I realized that I was excommunicated. No, I did not. I said my Act of Contrition (I had been given my penance) and the awful burden was forgiven by Our Lord, through the priest, and the burden was gone. I’m a new person. Thank you Father.

Our Bishop tells our parishioners not to be one issue voters, referring to abortion, and basically telling people that the immigration issue is more important. Abortion is never needed. Even in ectopic pregnancy, its not considered an abortion because it's a life saving surgery for the mother, with the unfortunate side effect of the baby not surviving.

Deporting illegal aliens can NEVER be compared to abortion since abortion is the assassination of an innocent child. Whereas, deportation of criminals is exercising justice for those who had to go through a lengthy immigration process in order to be admitted into the country. Deportation of criminals is also fair to the citizens of the country that is being invaded and destroyed illegally.
