To be honest, it all looks extremely similar to me. What is the key difference that makes this a chatolic ceremony, rather than a protestant one?

@@ruralor This isn’t a Catholic service actually, it was a service of prayer I believe that was hosted by the Lutheran Church of Norway. Notice how the Pope isn’t wearing his vestments for mass, but the bishops of the Church of Norway are wearing their Mass vestments, since it is their service that they were hosting. There are many differences between Catholics and the Lutheran Church of Norway theologically of course, but not too much is different practically speaking in this service to a Catholic service of prayer for example. I’m not an expert though, but thank you for asking!

@@ruralor Sorry, I thought you were referring to this one. Personally I’ve been to my grandparents Lutheran church and I am a Catholic, and there isn’t that much that is practically different between Lutherans and Catholics. Notably Catholics have incense used during their mass, and there is much more of an emphasis on the Eucharist at a Catholic mass. Also Lutheran masses can be less formal sometimes whereas Catholic masses are generally always structured and formal. There’s probably a number of other details that I’m not aware of that are different too cuz I’m no expert. But the main differences between Lutherans and Catholics is theology and what we believe. Hope that made some sense 😊
