Just bought this on the strength your review. I've already built the Pantasy Metal Slug 3 set and was impressed. Really looking forward to this build. Thank you for the great review!

Glad that you got it. It’s one of my favorite Pantasy builds and very true to the series. Enjoy the build!

The history of the show is fascinating. I had no idea that Popeye was a spin-off. I love listening to your deepdives into the history of popculture.

I own two sets from Pantasy. I really like that they have licensed sets. Quality of bricks are ok, definitely not Lego quality. Color uniformity is a problem as well, especially with black. Other than that I have no complaints. Definitely worth purchasing.

Thank you for that. It seems to be a company that makes a good compatible brand with licensed items that are certainly different then what we usually see. I completely agree with your assessment of the brand. Thanks for watching.

IMO Gobricks are by far the best clone brand. Their colour matching is spot on, very bright and vibrant, if a bit overly shiny. Many clone brand colours are off, especially ones such as dark and light tan, red, yellow and dark grey, but I've been very impressed by the accuracy of GoBricks. I usually avoid sets that don't use Gobricks, but I have picked up three sets from Pantasy. I agree with you their black elements colour matching is not great, so I simply replaced black exterior elements with Lego or GoBrick from my large Lego "studio" (which is in my barn🙄😁)

I love Popeye! What a great set. My childhood memories of Popeye are mostly from the 1980 Musical with Robin Williams and Shelley Duvall. I'm not sure about the comics, but at least in the movie, Sweet Pea was left in a basket with a note "For the one-eyed sailor" to take care of. I've seen in pictures of Jeep over the years, but never as part of the story in a comic strip or cartoon. He's some sort of alien, right? Was he like the Great Gazoo from the Flinstones?

Great to hear from you! I love the movie...I think that did such a good job with it. You are correct about Sweet Pea! Popeye just found him! Jeeps were a rare character and they were like Gazoo from Flinstones. I also loved the Flintstones! My Flinstone's Lego Moc I did is in a bin somewhere...I've been looking for it actually! Have a great day my friend!

How many bags

16 - all numbered and not an overwhelming number of pieces per bag. Very enjoyable in fact.
