Currently living in Colorado near Pikes Peak mountain. I was born and raised in Poplar Bluff. Moving back there to be near my dad and son soon. Cost of living is outrageous here, 600,000 residents to boot.

@@WaywardWaggs I will miss the beautiful mountain which is snow capped right now. I enjoyed your video. I am glad to be heading back to PB where I am used to the people and surroundings. When I was living near Kansas City, Mo. and took my daughter to a dentist, Dr. Wick who is from Sikeston( if I remember correctly.) He remembered Lucy Lee hospital (where my Mom worked as an LPN). I remember him telling me "You lost your accent!"

@@WaywardWaggs I should be moved there in time for Friday's sale barn day the first week of June. I love the animals! That's another thing that I will miss in Colorado. The deer roaming the neighborhoods in Manitou Springs and up by Broadmoor and wild turkeys gobbling in my yard when I lived in Matheson.. My late husband and I used to set up a booth at the sale barn over 20 years ago. He's buried in PB. Came from Indiana.and liked PB enough to adopt it. Sadly, the reason I am leaving Colorado is because my current husband is a narcissist. As a Christian, we are salt and light . My family needs that influence. I haven't seen my dad in 15 years. I hope we can mend our relationship as we were never close .

Great video. Enjoyed watching it and listening to your narration. I grew up in southern CA but my mom and her side of the family is originally from PB. Every summer we would visit for a few weeks from roughly 1985-2000. I was young but still have many memories - I always loved the fact that you guys had firework stands around fourth of July because they were illegal in CA. Swimming in the river at Sam A Baker State Park a little ways from there in Patterson. Seeing that movie Angels in the Outfield before the Rodgers theater closed. I went back for the first time since then in 2016 and 2017. Westwood Blvd looks totally different with all the new restaurants and retail stores. I know a lot of people in the area don't like seeing a Buffalo Wild Wings pop up in their small town but at the end of the day, these places bring jobs and revenue to the city. Have you tried the Colton's steak house? We really liked it. I see some people in the comments section making reference to the increase in crime. Maybe it's just me but while we were there in 2016 and 2017, we went out a lot, even at night, and I never felt threatened or uncomfortable at any time. I may have seen a lady of the night hanging out in front of CVS, but that's about it. It's funny, PB is this tiny town in the heartland that most people have never heard of but I have run into more than one person in CA that has lived there at some point in their life. It's a small world.
@WaywardWaggs4 жыл бұрын
We have swam at Sam A. Baker also. We went to Roger's theatre almost every weekend as kids. The Colton's is great. When I was a kid, it was A-1 Steakhouse. It was good back then too. Thanks so much for watching and for leaving a great comment. It certainly is a small world.

@@deejaye2647 Imo you should go back and visit, take in all the old memories. See how the city has changed. But I would not move there. 1,000 residents have left PB over the last 10 years because there are very few good job opportunities. 25% of the people in PB live below the poverty line.
