Maashap also sounds a lot like mashup-- which works pretty well with having attacks from the captured pokemon. I also think either a move or an ability should be called 'matted growth'. Maybe making its defense raise after every attack, as the wool becomes more condensed. Kind of like how felting is stabbing the wool repeatedly until is takes a rigid form: like dolls.

Because much like Terastallization what Terapagos has, the only unsolved puzzle piece what we didn't know is that Eternatus place all the energy of Dynamax/Gigantamax in regions that are other than Galar. They all turned out great! I was wondering how you'd handle Yarnaby and I get what you mean about not wanting to go with a round head again. I think it turned out great, and I imagine when it opens it's mouth(s), it's multicolored main just fans out wildly like its alive. Also love nighmare Huggawug's gmax form! And I absolutely love pulling Lambchop in for inspiration on Baba. The idea of them tangling people in their wool is really neat as well. How about for a signature move: Wooly Bully (or Dyed Wool). Similar to metronome, it uses a random move but limits it to moves other pokemon in the party can use (or have ever learned/learn naturally if we want a bigger pool?)

To expand upon what we already know about pokemon and expand on it to suit all trainers. Thus began the Bigger Body Experiment. Experiment 011 seemed like the perfect candidate due to it's unique fighting style, but when we exposed it to Dynamax energy and entered it's new form, it seemed horrified. It then continued to lash out with it's extremely long arms wrecking the entire facility. We were able to drain the energy out of the pokemon in time before any more damage was done, but even so, this was a complete disaster of an experiment." OH! And not sure if it's intentional, but both the buckteeth and the shiny coloring of Malamb is also reminiscent of the character Charlie Horse from Lamb Chop. [Though I do know Baba Chop also has the teeth in their design.] I just found it thematically fitting with what you were saying, since Charlie Horse was also known for being kind of a jerk in the show. Which in turn feels fitting for the dark type. EDIT: actually... do you think 'baba' in the character's name might also be alluding to Baba Yaga? Kind of makes sense with the whole 'stay at home' mention. Which just felt funny to me, since that would still fit with your idea of Maashap walking around and essentially becoming the house.
