Bro this is my opinion on chapter 3: 95% Puzzles 5% Chase Scenes To be honest. In my opinion, i was expecting chapter 3 to be more chase scenes and scarier just like huggy wuggy in chapter 1 chasing us in the vents, and mommy long legs chasing us for very long. I fully subscribe to the "mercy kill" narrative right now. I don't think the prototype was betraying Catnap at all by killing him. Catnap was set on fire and blew up internally. That must have been agonizing for him. And Catnap was shaking all over when the Prototype's hand opened, and when he moved he looked weak. Catnap would've lived in agony, and likely died later. We have no reason to believe he would heal from the injuries he sustained. Regarding the kill, I don't think Catnap didn't know what was about to happen, he was looking directly at the hand when it formed into a spear. And even if he didn't know, the kill was instant. There was no suffering involved, and Catnap wouldn't have even had time to think about it. It looked merciful. That's just my opinion tho.
