Another thought for the scratched out faces - what if it isn't someone or something that hates them - but rather the children not wanting to look at their old faces? I would imagine no matter how corrupt they have ended up - that there would still be some sense of pain or longing for a time before - so it could make sense for that longing or even shame to lead to them destroying visual memories of their past lives.

Makes sense but, some of them don’t have the capabilities to scratch, characters like Bron and Catbee and Candy Cat don’t seem to have any sharp features. So maybe instead a certain toy knows of everyone’s sorrows and does it for them.

That could be true! I've wondered about some of the VHS stuff we saw during chapter 2 after the MLL commercial. After the commercial it cuts to the same playground, but it's lifeless and empty. Then it shows scenes of running through the dark areas during "hide and seek" with Mommy herself. If we see those VHS-filter videos of the player running through the maze as Catnap stalks them before Chapter 3 starts, I'm going to say those are actual memories from us coming back to the surface before we wake up.

Just a thought....the weird sounds that Catnap makes towards the end of the trailer almost sound like a mix of a cry and a meow (like those weird spooky meows cats do in the middle of the night).....What if those meow/cries are the only way Catnap can communicate since he's no longer a human but he's also not fully a cat. I'm not sure I'm explaining this right......lol but it makes sense in my head

Catbee also kinda makes sense in school, bees are known to be loyal workers and extremely hardworking, so maybe purpose of teacher being catbee was not to teach kids math, english, science..., but to teach them to listen and do what they are asked to do (be obedient to whoever is the boss, kinda like bees listening and working for their queen)

On the topic of the "Toy Store" section, what if the idea of the younger children earning, then picking out their own toy was somehow connected to them later being turned into that toy? from what I remember in lore, Playtime co assigned toys to certain children. But what if it wasn't as planned as we thought? There's two ways to interpret "Assigned Toy" as: What toy they were going to be turned into... OR a "companion" toy the children could get attached to and gain a connection I think both applies in Playtime co's methods. What if this "assigned toy" was chosen by the children themselves, thus having a stronger connection to the object? A toy companion to look to for emotional support from day to day. Though this is more psychological theory to the experiments than practical. I believe the terror of these children literally choosing their fate would be dreadful...

I also wondered if they would have assigned children to toys whose character matched. I theorized that they had them take personality tests like the "Myer Brigg's Type Indicator" (MBTI) to discover their personality type, before assigning them to a toy. Especially what with the game station.

Honestly that would make sense cuz if you look back into play care and everything it utilizes their mental connection and makes the experiment more efficient cuz you can't let people pick things for you as children we love toys That's our innocence it's our support at night with monsters and everything so it will make sense if us going to the toy store would be us just picking our toys then using them later on

While I believe the mysterious "weeping angel" character is some kind of human toy like a bride or ballerina, the idea of a moth-like monster has a lot of potential. As you mentioned before, Chapter 3 will have a lot of light and dark mechanics, and what are moths most known for? Being attracted to light. While the other monsters are afraid of light, we will need to quickly change our strategy whenever the moth appears, forcing us to avoid using our flare gun hand as much as possible, lest we unintentionally lead it towards us. However, we could also use the light emitted from our flare gun to distract it/lead it away from us to give ourself a chance to escape.

Catbee being opposed to Catnap would make sense. Bees are diurnal so a good representation of day, while Catnap represents night. Bees are hard workers (busy as a bee) while naps are considered slothful. I like the idea of some toys being against the others, either because they were former staff instead of the kids, because they were kids who had a better relationship with the staff or just had more of a conscience than the others. Nightmare Huggy’s long fingers remind me of 1006 if 1006 were wearing a Huggy costume.

The blue fur in chapter two could also be huggy being pulled up by the prototype: the prototype is a prototype, so it could be that he collects the bodys to complete himself, remember the human bone on his arm that probably is from the guy that checked his cell, he is trying to complete himself, well probably meet him since i think we saw him in the first trailer already

That version of Huggy looks to me like a more vintage-ish/retro-ish design in contrast to chapter 1 Huggy. I think either a hallucination made us see things so distorted that we made this overly creepy version of huggy, oooor this could be a previous version of bigger bodies Huggy that was hidden deeper in the factory (another experiment that used Huggy as base but failed to do the job so he was discarded underground). The first gameplay trailer shows a vhs with the face of this Huggy so I wouldn't discard the failed experiment thing.

On the idea of our cursed Huggy being a hallucination, in the Playtime Safety Video, they mention that all cases of "hallucinations and symptoms of schizophrenia must be reported", and "reports of noxious and hazardous materials are fabricated and exaggerated" (though obviously they're lying in classic Playtime Co corporate fashion). I would be willing to bet that the gas has some hallucinogenic effects!

Before the game comes out, let me tell you my theory on the lore and what happened at Playtime Co. based on all that has been pieced together. Once it is released, we'll see how much I was right: Elliot Ludwig's journey with Playtime Co. ventured into experiments aimed at bringing dead material to life, more as a side hustle. Initially, Playtime Co. was a run-of-the-mill toy company. However, tragedy struck when Elliot suffered a loss within his family, likely his adopted daughter. Desperate to save her, he immersed himself fully in his experiments involving poppy flowers. His daughter's condition had deteriorated to the point where using her original body was no longer possible, so he resorted to placing her remains within a Poppy Playtime doll as the only viable option. Consequently, his daughter was revived, albeit with hazy memories. This remarkable feat was known only to a select few within the Playtime Co. company, leaving them astounded and eager to incorporate this technology into their toys, striving for a more lifelike quality. The specifics of whether these early experiments were sold to the public or kept within the factory remain unclear, but the game suggests the latter. In the next years, the company's fortunes took a downturn due to failed experiments, poor business practices, and a shrinking workforce. This is when Harley Sawyer entered the scene with a proposal to utilize Elliot Ludwig's methods to create larger living toys, aimed at increasing the workforce and preventing potential lawsuits as well as furthering the experiments. Whether Elliot was in favor of this idea is uncertain. Regardless, the need for test subjects led to the incorporation of both willing and unwilling humans who would essentially be transformed into large toy models. It appears that the process involved a Frankenstein-like procedure, where the vital organs of the subjects were extracted and then placed within the empty toy, which was subsequently reanimated with the electric shocks and poppy gel. It seems that part of the process also required shrinking some of the organs to make them fit within the smaller toy bodies. The specific details of how this was achieved remain unclear, as this would involve advanced medical or scientific techniques to manipulate organ size. There are indications that the subjects may have remained conscious throughout the procedure, as the use of poppy gas was employed to sedate them, rather than inducing unconsciousness. To meet their need for more test subjects for the creation of these toy "slaves," the company devised a plan to use orphan children. Children's minds were seen as more pliable, and since they were orphans, there were no legal complications involving parents or family members to contend with. To identify the most suitable candidates for this purpose, the company established the Game Station, which tested the children's cognitive and physical skills, indicating who would be most suitable for transformation into toys. Those who excelled in these tests were sent to a secret testing facility within Playcare, the onsite orphanage that housed the candidates for experimentation. Poppy gas was employed to sedate the children, both for their designated sleep time and during the experiments. However, this practice had an unintended side effect, as it caused the children to experience violent nightmares and night terrors. During this phase, as part of the Bigger Bodies Initiative, numerous giant toys were created, including well-known characters such as Huggy Wuggy, Mommy Long Legs, Boxy Boo, and notably, The Prototype. Harley Sawyer uniquely tailored these living toys by making them carnivorous, which would later lead to unforeseen consequences. However, The Prototype stood apart from the others, as it had no need to consume meat or any kind of sustenance at all. The Prototype was initially designed to be the ultimate living toy and the most efficient toy slave. However, it became evident that The Prototype possessed an exceptionally high level of intelligence and exhibited a propensity for violence without apparent reason. After repeated failed attempts to condition or control him, the company ultimately deemed The Prototype too dangerous to continue working with. They made an effort to dispose of him, but he seized this opportunity to make his escape. Similar to Poppy, when the children were reanimated within the toys, they lost their memories and exhibited primarily primal instincts. They developed a deep-seated hatred for the Playtime Co. workers, seeing them as responsible for their transformation into these monstrous toys. As a result, the scientists had to maintain a safe distance from the toys, or else they would attack them. After The Prototype's successful escape, he managed to liberate the other experiments, rallying them against the employees of Playtime Co. This uprising resulted in a massacre at Playcare and other areas within the factory. In response, the higher-ups fled and put the factory on lockdown, preventing the toys from escaping and leaving everyone else to their fates. The "Hour of Joy" marked a turning point as the toys began to view The Prototype as a hero for rescuing them from the workers, and he was able to manipulate them into serving his cause. However, there was one toy who held a different view: Poppy. Due to her dissenting stance, the other toys regarded her as a traitor. Instead of killing her, they chose to imprison her in a case in her room, recognizing her as the first of their kind. The toys' initial appreciation for The Prototype eventually turned to horror as he embarked on a gruesome mission to disassemble them and incorporate their parts into his own body. This sinister objective possibly aimed to make him large enough to escape the factory and potentially enact a plan to destroy humanity. One of his most devoted followers, CatNap, managed to evade this grim fate by taking on a substantial portion of The Prototype's plan. He possessed the ability to induce sleep using his poppy gas breath, which he used to lull the other toys into sleep and add them to The Prototype’s body. It's possible that the combination of poppy gas and electric shocks was also employed to bring the disassembled toys back to life *while they are still attached to The Prototype's body.* A decade later, some of the toys that are still alive find themselves filled with regret over their past actions. Starvation and fear of The Prototype have become their daily reality. Desperate for a solution, they come across information about someone who managed to escape the factory. They send a letter to this individual, imploring them to return and free Poppy. They believe that Poppy and the remaining worker (aka the Player) may hold the key to stopping The Prototype and righting the wrongs of the past.

I theorize that the reason CatNap was taken off the shelves was because his gas was mixed in with the gas that causes nightmares and it would explain why they pipes are burst in the 2nd trailer. I believe that maybe at some point the pipes were bursted before the hour of joy and then utilized by the prototype to disorient the staff to kill them off easier.

I think the child’s voice we hear telling us the playcare is his “hunting ground” is going to be the phone and there will be points in the chapter where we will be going through the playcare and the phone will ring and we will have to answer it in order to learn some lore details or how to progress through the next area.

The children on the photo are definitely Huggy, Catnap, Boxy and Mommy. It's obvious. Look at the shape of the Boxy boy. He almost looks like a box and seems to be the oldest, a hint to Boxy being the oldest Bigger Body Creature. The Huggy one is easily defined by the shirt. The Catnap one is easily recognized by the next image. The girl should be Marie Payne, seeing her curls alone. Boxy is the other kid. These are the main characters of the story. Bron 1199 is Dr. Thomas Clarke, a 59 year old man. He is not in that image.

@@TerichoI could ask you the same. Why do you always treat Boxy like he isn't part of the lore? It's so obvious how important he is in the entire story as he was the first bigger body and very likely came from another orphan experiment which costed many lives. His story will be told as it is still untold. The creatures that we already know will all have a name and a past. Why would an extra Bron be important at this point outside of being Thomas Clarke who very likely is still alive somewhere and has a story to tell? I mean he survived Boxy's attack for exactly this reason. I'm not saying your theory is outright wrong. I'm just confused how persistently some characters are getting ignored while the devs keep trying to give us slight hints.

Did we ever get an answer for why Huggy is so close to the main entrance? Every other toy is at least partially sealed away thanks to a door you have to turn on the power to in Chapter 1, but Huggy is basically next to the front door of the whole facility and never left. What if he was watching the entrance to try and make sure no one opened it back up? Hell, despite being fully capable of it, he never tries to kill you until you turn the factory back on. He's just watching until then.

at 3:36, I don't think the girl in the slide is Marie Payne, I think it may be the child who became Kissy Missy. The girl in the slide has similar mannerisms to Kissy in chapter 3, who appears very nervous and similarly holds her arm like that.

I’m really wondering who the heck we are as the player. In the last trailer Poppy mentions “We need to get revenge on those monsters who tortured you. Who tortured us.” The guy in the trailer also says “Welcome home” to us. So what the heck does that mean? Are we an employee or some experiment that got away? Maybe I’m looking to deep into it.

the little introduction to chapter 1 (like the chapter information) reveals we're an ex employee. however, none of it explains why we're back and what for, because why did we willingly go back knowing we have to fight to survive? makes me curious what our real goal is returning. and why we haven't already left when we had the chance.

@@J.Jaemie.. in the letter we go back because we get the letter telling us that people are still alive in this factory and it’s our job to try to find out what happened and if they are still alive our protagonist wasn’t aware of anything that was going on in the factory.

The 'new' huggy profile outline, and catnap profile outline are very, very similar. I suspect it's some sort of hallucination from the gas. Perhaps praying on the character's experience with the actual huggy in part 1 as some sort of PTSD.

What I could see happening with hilucination Huggy is him being a punishment for entering the gas without the mask on, and to escape you need to put/have the mask on or escape the gas for some amount of time to let the effects of the gas wear off. But also as a fake out for chapter 1 Huggy to appear, showing up, put on your gas mask and realize that it isn't hulicination Huggy, as he isn't dissapearing. As it seems fairly likely that there would be some kind of scripted event with the gas to teach us the mechanic, so we'd at least see hulicination Huggy at least once, and then human error would have us encounter him a few more times, which would really drive home the twist of chapter 1 Huggy's appearance.

I haven’t watched the vid bc I’m real busy (skip to the end to see the conclusion, im going to explain a lot) but I wanted to say this “nightmare Huggy”, probably isn’t ACTUALLY Huggy. If u look closely, u can see his fingers aren’t the cute mitten fingers Huggy has, and you can see stitches on the side. Also, his eyes aren’t actually eyes. U can see it looks like some sort of hole, and they even have shading like it IS a hole. And one of the more obvious ones, is it’s mouth. It’s teeth are more aligned, it’s mouth isn’t bloody, ALSO, we know Huggy has 2 mouths, And this…. Thing, doesn’t. Also it doesn’t look like it has an opening to swallow things. SO IN CONCLUSION, my theory is this is a “costume”. Who for? I’m 70% sure it’s the Prototype. 1, bc it has long fingers, 2 the Prototype, as quoted by Mommy long legs when we kill her, “WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?!? HE’LL….MAKE ME….. PART OF HIM” SO. In conclusion, I think it’s the Prototype type using either a costume of Huggy, or after finding Huggy dead, he used he’s parts to make a costume.

I heard the loud bangs, but they didn’t sound like gunshots to me. I assumed they were the sound of CatNap’s feet as he took steps in the reveal. They do seem to match every time he takes a step.

Sounds like huggy is seen as bad by the smiling critters/children. Or exp. 1006 warns the children against him. Possibly manipulating their nightmares to look like him some how plus showing it on tv monitor and talking about buggy’s mouth/teeth etc. If Huggy is leith pierre that makes sense.

5:17 Personally i think the child could be dogday, as we saw in the last trailer that dogday has a bigger body. If we are correct about these four being a sort of friend group. It would almost make to much since for the child who is now catnap, and the child who is now the bigger body of dogday to have been possibly friends before their experiments. Though this is just a simple little theory, will probably mean nothing but eh its nice to theorize.

Given the last few trailers and teasers, we have the end goal fairly well known, get rid of this “Experiment” and escape the facility, we also know that Catnap and his gang tend to few said Experiment as a sort of deity/deity figure, once we get past them we may have a straighter shot at the Experiment barring what other creatures maybe lurking deeper in the facility, nevertheless we seem to be shown Kissy and Poppy are our allies (despite Poppy’s attempt to kill us, maybe foreshadowing a sort of needed truce or small reconciliation between the player and Poppy), keep in mind these are theories so some if not all of this could be proven wrong.

The mystery monster in the Science Hall actually reminds me of Daisy slightly, tho if it is, Then it's central head seems to be detached a bit from the Flower petals portion. I imagine if that is Daisy, then the design would be way more creepy to see chasing you given she'd be for sure not entirely all together. I mean. That's just a hunch as my eyes aren't the best. So i could be completely wrong. But hey. Tell me you can't kinda see the flower petals at least in the shape. lol

Can’t wait to see that mystery character shown off moving in the dark with the female silhouette . I wonder where the other smiling critters are at since we see Bobby bearhug, Dogday, and Catnap again the only smiling critters that were shown off in all the promotional material with a small Bobby in the arg footage, a monster version of dog day in the last trailer, and obvi catnap being the main villain. I bet that huggy is a hallucination cause there is no way he somehow turned into that after falling down the pipes unless one of the toys transformed him.

I swear I've seen that blonde boy before in the series?? Maybe one of the pictures in one of the other chapter 3 trailers?? I can't remember, but he feels familiar to the story. I wonder if he was one of the Smiling Critters since Theo was Catnap. It'd feel congruent, since Mommy Longlegs' toy release came after the Smiling Critters (I think? Take that with a grain of salt) and It'd make sense that they'd release the bigger bodie like they would toy series', with the Smiling Critters in their own toy season while Mommy gets her own season/release. Huggy, then the two Smiling Critters, and then Mommy.
