Already have a theory: On one of the children’s drawings it says that the child’s parents left them. And In of the the scenes we see bed-frames. I think that the daycare was actually where the parents would drop of their kids and leave them. Then while they where enjoying their time at the daycare a living toy (the new monster) would lead the kids away. Judging by the ending to this trailer the monster probably used a gas made out of Poppy flowers to induce them into a sleep. When the children woke up they would be ready for testing. But, like the others, something went wrong. The monster probably went rogue and killed everyone, except for the children. Towards the end of the video, written on the wall says “my somniferous flock” somniferous basically means sleep. After their massacre they gathered the children and put them into a deep sleep. After the incident, the children began to worship the monster (out of fear most likely), hence why the words on the wall are so thankful for this monster. Also how I came up with the poppy gas is because POPPY Playtime, The Toy POPPY from the add apparently smells like POPPIES, and because Poppy’s are known for being used to help children sleep, and also it has a red dye like the gas. It would also explain the gas mask from the start of the video and from another teaser trailer. I feel like MatPat.

Personally, I think hearing the kids screams in the background is an amazing touch to this eerie scene! Not only does it make it that much more unsettling, it's a perfect reflection of the screams we here in the audio tapes of Chapter 1. Many people are theorising about the creature and letters, but you may want to pay attention to some of the wall design for the orphanage as well. The design has flowerlike patterns on it and it’s not anywhere similar to that of the first two chapters. This is definitely foreshadowing something in my opinion. I think the pattern has to do with the poppy, so this orphanage is actually more of a laboratory than anything. Similar concept to Japanese or Nazi scientist experimenting on people during WWII. This may be the chapter where we see the history of these experiments on the orphans. Edit: was the doll going to experiment on the player since they’re “too perfect to lose”?

Here’s my theory. Elliot Ludwig was genuinely a good guy and wanted to help orphaned kids, hence him setting up Playcare initially. Him losing his (presumed) daughter would have led to him really wanting a better life for kids. And if we assume that he is the Prototype, then that makes sense given the trailer shows messages like “The original saved me” etc. I think that Elliot, now in his Protitype form, saved the kids from the real bad guys- Leith Pierre and Stella Greyber. These two were evidently obsessed with turning kids into toys, for monetary or personal reasons, and so had Elliot “converted” into the Prototype and took over Playcare for their own twisted purposes. HOWEVER… that backfired as one day, Elliot (who had notified the Playcare kids beforehand) escaped his containment facility and rampaged through the building killing everyone connected to Leith and Stella (the “hour of joy”). Then, he retreated to Playcare to keep the kids safe as there were still hostile toys (Huggy under Leith’s control, M.L.L under Stella’s) and, after ordering Poppy to bring the player to him, waits in Playcare for us now- possibly to help us Whew, long theory, but I just think this makes at least some sense. Edit: Well, now I look rather sillly. Evidently the Prototype is a bad guy. Still, still stand by the rest of it.

The game is slowly turning more graphic and morbid. And it's getting a bit more creepy and scary. The plot seems a lot darker now and the actual horror is starting to show and honestly I'm all for it! I think it's candy cat rather it being a new character. The hand at 1:10 looks like a cat's hand and the red looking mist at 1:18 could be it's tongue, somethings it's heavily associated with. And the jumpscare at 1:21 has the resemblance of a cat's face so I'm betting money on Candy Cat.

0:45 After watching many youtubers play Chapter 3, I just realized the pics of the two kids there on the left. If u remember the VHS tapes from Chapter 3, you will notice the kid on the left is Jeremy, the ones the Hartmans wanted to adopt but couldn’t because Stella found out he was taken for testing. As for the other kid, IDK but I think this is Samuel Lee, the kid who everyone was celebrating because they believe he was getting adopted only he was in reality going to be taken away to be turned into a toy. You will also notice two faint stickers containing two smiling critters. On Jeremy’s is Bubba Bubbaphant and on Samuel’s is Craftycorn. It seems Jeremy was turned in Bubba Bubbaphant while Samuel was turned into Craftycorn.
