Poppy roll (poppy seed, poppy seed roll) is a traditional Ukrainian pastry prepared for Easter, Savior, and Christmas. This is a pastry based on yeast dough with poppy seed filling.
To prepare poppy rolls we need:
For the dough: 📝
flour - 500 g;
milk (warm) - 185 g;
yeast (pressed) - 20 g;
butter - 60 g;
eggs - 2 pcs. (one yolk is used to lubricate products);
sugar - 100 g;
vanilla sugar - 9 g (1 sachet);
salt - 1/4 tsp.
The weight of the dough is 940 g (divided into 2 parts of 470 g).
For poppy seed filling: 📝
poppy - 150 g;
sugar - 75 g.
Adjust the amount of filling according to your preferences.
Baking temperature - 175 C. Baking time - 25-30 minutes.
