Watching your videos I feel like getting myself a Osmo pocket. Great videos 👌👍
@poptravelorg4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I'm happy with the camera. Something to cosnider still: there are a few alternatives with a similar design like the Xiaomi Fimi Palm (though 4K30) or FeiyuTech's Feiyu Pocket. I haven't tested them. I would expect to an updated Osmo Pocket at some point. The initial release was in December 2018. I had to buy a 2nd Osmo Pocket at the original price earlier this year, though DJI sales are often and it surely has great 4K60 quality. We'll see if dynamic range could be improved with a better / larger sensor. You'd also need an external mic for better audio. For quick filming the startup time is long - still OK for walking videos though for vlogs it would be inconvenient
@johnny_bravo99904 жыл бұрын

Thank you for this, I was testing my new 4K monitor to see what the difference was, it's now clear to me that 4K is very close to real vision where as 1080p looks more like a video recorded on a camera.
@poptravelorg4 жыл бұрын
I agree, the 4K and 60fps make it look pretty real. Playing HDR videos also makes a nice difference in fidelity. The next step will be 4K60 HDR (DolbyVision or HDR10) here - possibly with binaural audio. These HDR videos look a bit flat on KZbin on non-HDR screens for now though I think that will be the future. 8K can surely be upscaled by a decent "AI" - like it's done in games now with DLSS on nVidia cards. The technology now available for consumers is amazing

Good as usual! Just wanted to ask- Do you walk randomly or plan the route to be taken in advance ?
@poptravelorg4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Before I start walking I usually have Google Maps open which marks "busy" areas of cities a bit yellow or there are marks of sights where the density also gives some hints which area to go. I usually don't plan the walk though kind of follow the busy areas and estimate where I'd go - especially when I revisit a place I know. While filming with my left hand I have a photo camera and the phone in my right the camera dangling on my wrist... Sometimes I have to backtrack a bit when running into dead-ends though I try to keep it enjoyable and a bit random. After an hour I prefer to have a break. Sometimes I record the way back to my starting point/hostel/hotel though that depends on how I feel how much I've missed. It's good exercise and lots of recording in any case.

Ok I need to just say a few things here. I watch a few people on KZbin doing their walks because it brings me so much happiness to be able to see places I have not gone and probably won't get the chance to because of my illness and I watch all their walks every day and thought I would watch this one however this walk here frustrated me right away. One it would be nice if your going to go in a church to show it then show all of it, you flew in and out so fast that us watching it wanted to see everything in the church and take your time doing it. Even on the walk on the streets I found myself getting frustrated with it. I normally can watch these types of videos for hours because they are more interesting then anything on TV and im from California.
@poptravelorg3 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about that. I've been to many churches over the past few hundred videos. Sometimes either there is a mass where filming is prohibited so when I notice I leave quickly. I'll see why it was a bit stressed here - probably due to an entrance fee where I didn't have the coins ready. I also see lots of things for improvement with the videos and try to smooth out the movement which may require a better setup

Today I'm watching your videos for the first time while you were in Edinburgh question. Is all you do is just walk and just let the camera go you don't tell anybody what like what's that church over there or anything like that is so I'm confused because we have we have cameras in the states that have just trail cams that people walk by but I'm just curious cuz I haven't and you say much about anything you're looking at or passing by or anything okay thank you you're watching a couple of more see what happens.
@poptravelorg4 жыл бұрын
I usually walk faster than the average pedestrian in order to not trail people. Yeah, you're right: for now the videos are simply showing the city as original as it gets - original audio and video without further info. When I hit 100K+ subscribers I may be able to afford to hire somebody to provide subtitles for the most popular videos. I often take 1, 2 or even 3 videos per day - often over 100 per year while traveling so putting additional info up is limited by my time. I may be putting up a membership option to let people support the channel financially and possibly allow adding such info earlier. This is a relatively small channel for now. We'll see how that goes. Thanks for watching!

Carol, so far, I love his videos w/o talking. Just the naturals sounds. There are to many walkers that talk explaining the sights. They are boring to me. Daniel's videos are so awesome, because as he walks, he covers a lot of ground, and I can always pause to research more information of what I am interested in. Google maps is my "Go-To" for information. Try this sometimes. It's very educational. Glad you watched!
