I used to work at the University of Manchester. Brilliant people and a decent place. I really miss it. I would have happily worked there until I retired but I had to take severance pay. I wish I could go back there.

Nice find. 😎I barely noticed the traffic police as far as I remember. Police usually is relaxed in Europe. I remember I wanted to check out a church that was marked as a "hidden gem" and found that pathway and "Mulberry Pass". In this case I point the camera away from my walking direction to see some path between hoses... I more often look at my phone as that was my first time in Manchester

Manchester is a clear example of a city that can't let go of its past. Too many shabby buildings, downtown is run-down and neglected, no greenery or parks whatsoever. Very depressing place. But thanks for doing the walk, it helps people who haven't been to the place get a glimpse of how life is in the city.

For England I'd still say Manchester ranks as the "2nd city". Birmingham felt smaller and for me more comfortable. I didn't see something like Manchester's financial / shopping district "Spinningsfield" in Birmingham. I surely missed several part in each place as I've spent one night in each place. An then Manchester also has a more famous football team...
