If you are students you can also apply for a part time work visa through you school. The main thing is to be legal. There are some illegal jobs which don't pay well. At least with a legal job you are secure in that you are not so much a burden to your employer. De

I'm a Dubliner, I lived around different places in my time but I have to say that spire is the most meaningless trash, deliberately chosen so as not to put up a historical figure from our history, our history of struggle for independence. Instead of entering into a debate as to what should have replaced the British colonial monument which once stood there, they imposed this meaningless spike with no aesthetic quality or value and representing absolutely nothing. A monument to subservient mediocrities afraid to invoke our revolutionary history. It really should be removed.
@gomey704 жыл бұрын
Dublin is already full of statues, parks and street names that remember our struggle for independence. Can't keep living in the past. We should be looking forward, that what the spire represents.
@mikki35624 жыл бұрын
@@gomey70 I have two things to say about your comment: one, you say we should not be living in the past - but we're not living in the past! Our past is being revised to deny our actual history. Perhaps too you might have heard the expression: "those who own the past, control the future" And two: you say "We should be looking forward, that's what the spire represents" - ? You say the spire represents the future - really - ? If that is the case, then we have no future because the spire has no intended aesthetic value, no historic value, is not in harmony with anything else in the city, and importantly, is derided by most perplexed foreign visitors as being an ugly monstrosity in a city of culture where they expected to be edified by its cherishing of its great historical and cultural past, along with new tasteful modern developments that would compliment that cherished past. Instead we have effectively: nothing. Nothing at all, just a meaningless pole, an embarrassment.
