There are two types of vodka in the market. First one is the neutral spirit with no taste, which is popular in markets where vodka is not traditional. Second one is traditional, which is preferred in places like Poland or Russia, where the taste of grain (or potato) should be there. An average US consumer would normally consider the traditional kind of vodka somewhat harsh in taste and smell.

Please explain to me why Vodka costs as much as Bourbon or Scotch? These whiskeys are produced from a much more complex mash bill and are aged in expensive white oak barrels for at least six years and can lose up to 60% of its volume during this time. The Vodka in your store shelves was grain being harvested a week or two ago. Gin, at least is steeped in botanicals an extra operation that requires various herbs, aromatic plants and spices all of which cost.

Don't knock the Kirkland Signature American vodka. The taste and quality are on par with Absolut, but at half the price. Here in western Washington, at the nearest booze emporium you can expect to pay $28 for a 1.75l bottle of Absolut, and that's before sales tax and state liquor tax, which run the price up to $43. The KS American is $22 for a 1.75l *AFTER* sales and state liquor taxes. That's a pretty screaming deal. FTR, I drink my vodka over rocks with either no mixer or a small squirt of Crystal Light or Mio if I'm craving a hint of sweetness.

I’ve never seen a top list as close to 100% as this. Just blew my mind. And all the comments seem to agree. Stoli is the educated drinkers cheap go-to. Titos is the Vodka for everything else. It’s the closest to tasteless as I’ve personally tried, and the dog thing is just the cherry on top. Used to be a fan of Kettle One but mostly for show (it’s still good, just tends to be boosted in price at bars).

What the hell mix Tito’s handmade? Is the fermentation process done by hand, because I thought it was done in a vat. Is it somehow distilled by hand? I just don’t get it.

Never been much of a “drinker”, so when a bartender suggested “Tito’s”, I thought, “Mexican vodka. Why not? They’ve done some terrific things with tequila.” I bought a bottle for my dad to try. His comment was- “Jeff, I don’t know how to tell you this. There was a mixup at labor & delivery. You actually belong to a rich. We’ve been looking for your real parents since you were born.” (I think he considers Tito’s expensive)

Deep eddy's is made in Texas just like Tito's and its way better. At $20 for a 1.75 it's hard to beat. Tito's goes up in price like every year. Belvedere I'd say is best on this list. It's hard to beat polish potato vodka's.

Mis Ko Oh, I always thought it was potato for some reason. I love it though, Chopin is my favorite. I've heard Sobieski is good I'll have to try it. Every vodka from Poland is so good. The buffalo grass one too and another cheap potato one that starts with a W I'm forgetting right now. This list sucks on here. When I saw belvedere ranked so low I quit watching. It's delicious!
@misko74823 жыл бұрын
@@dylynblue9864 You have excellent taste. I am Polish so a little biased.. Zubrowka (bison grass) vodka recently showed up in my part of the US. I missed it so much. It makes the best summer drink called "liquid apple pie" - just add some ice and good apple juice. It tastes exactly like apple pie with al the spice notes like cinnamon, cloves and that devine grass that last buffalos in europe feast on in north eastern Poland. One that starts with W is probably Wyborowa. It is also rye. Majority of Polish mass produced vodkas are actually rye or wheat. Notable exceptions are Chopin and Luksusowa which are potatoes. Potatoes were not the original base for vodka in Poland as it was invented way before Columbus discovered America and they became a popular crop in the old continent. They were used to make vodka much later out of scarcity and poverty. They were cheaper and more plentiful. Of course, anything made out of poverty can also become delicious. There is another non Polish vodka that I can highly recomment in the States - Reyka. It is from Iceland. Still, at about $20 I would buy Belvedere here. I agree, that list is useless.

Vodka, Bourbon, and wine are all beverages that appeal to different people. Price should not be the deciding factor when buying. It’s what your taste buds enjoy! Just because you are eating pasta doesn’t mean you drink red wine, drink what you enjoy! Same with vodka bourdon and all other beverages. Don’t let these so called experts tell you what is best for you!

I agree, Grey Goose definitely over priced. The Kirkland French version, does have a slightly different taste than Grey Goose, but is excellent in taste especially for the $20 price tag for a 1.75L bottle. I always drift back to Tito's which is awesome in every aspect.
