Por 15 is known for both it's fantastic strength and weakness to sunlight. They said it would be possible to do body panels with Por 15 Pontiac Metallic Blue. The paint is available in regular kits with clear and all but even just for the rims I think this sounds great. Por is basically bulletproof so it would be interesting on the body.

Por 15 is just a base coat while the Por 15 engine enamel isn't listed as a topcoat, but a standalone 1 part mix. The strength though, I think is more in the basecoat sold separately.

Why did you primer it when POR-15 recommends painting directly onto the metal?
@FatherSonGarage4 жыл бұрын
Good question. I didn't have much bare metal exposed, the block had been painted before and was still coated in a lot of places. I cleaned and roughened the previous finish and then decided to prime so I had a consistent finish to spray paint onto. The primer was a high heat engine primer as well. The POR15 will work fine on a primer, it just doesn't have to be primed first. I figured I'd get a nicer overall finish this way.

What color is that? I feel like their color swatches on their website aren't very accurate to the actual paint.

It's called 'AMC blue/green'. It's pretty close to the chip but there's a few different AMC colors out there for those years. I like the overall result, but first engine I've ever painted that color for sure.

@@FatherSonGarage that's what i thought. I ordered some ford corporate blue. Hoping it isn't as dark as some pictures depict it. Thanks for replying!

20% by weight or volume?

Volume. Guess it would have helped if I'd said that. Cheers!
