I used to collect porcelain dolls when i was 12. My first porcelain doll was given to me by my grandmother and she was very beautiful. She had blonde curly hair and blue eyes with a pink feathered hat and her dress was gold, rose gold, light pink and white with golden roses, pink bows and a lot of lace. I still have her and kept her for years, she means a ton to me since she was a gift from my grandmother. I named her Celeste and i don't collect porcelain dolls anymore but i still have them stored in the attic.

The young ladies accent is the lovely northern Irish accent I'm assuming it's Belfast I'm northern Irish and our accents differ from town to town even if we live in town and those who live out in the country side have what the townies call country for example she or he talks real country and some times turfers

I collect the limited edition porcelain musical dolls made by Goebel and sold on QVC during the late 80 to mid 90s. I have three of the 42 inch musical dolls and they are huge! I also have a few of the 30 inch dolls and a 36 inch doll.

"cringily emo" is the story of my life lmaooo, also i think it's totally fair to collect dolls as an adult!! i love porcelain dolls, personally my collection mainly consists of various clowns and harlequins and such and they all have so much personality to them it only makes sense to get really into collecting!!!

That is so so unique and cool!! I have one clown one, I don’t think I showed in the video as it’s in my studio but he is one of my favourites, I got him when I was super young & terrified of clowns so I really didn’t want to keep it but I still have it!! Cringily emo is my favourite title for myself as I clearly still haven’t grown out of it 🤣❤️

The porcelain dolls started appearing around the 1980s around 1986 by the very first ones were of great quality almost like the the early Victorian dolls and were really expensive like in around the £100 mark I recall buying my sister inaw one for 160quid and like everything else that gets copied the cheaper knock offs started to appear as most of the porcelain dolls were issued as collectables and not as play things most were put in attics in hope they would be become tomorrow S antiques so many survived unlike the early Victorian dolls that were made as play things few survived making them rary and valuable but as for the 19880s porcelain dolls too many survived along with the cheap knock offs making them really worthless now you can buy them in the box loads at carboot sales for practically pennies, it's really Barbie and sindy and other play dolls of our child hood that are really the true collectables I hope this answers your question ,

Thank you very much, this was a great help ❤️ it’s a shame in a way that mass production decreased their value only because I think they’re beautiful and not a lot of people are keen on them these days.

@@Xpresso-depresso I'm a collector of black dolls the inspiration came from black gospel music that my dad would play as we were Baptist the church had conventions and gospel choirs from America would visit and northern Irish people would take choir members in to stay while the conventions were in circulation a black American family stay with us a mummy and daddy and two children a boy and a girl the little girl had a pretty black doll with her she'd let me play with it but back in the day it was taboo for a little boy to play with dolls so I only played with it when I was in the young girls company as she didn't want my brother's making fun of me she'd pretend she was visiting and asked me to hold the baby while she pretended to back a cake , she said some white lady from the church bought the doll for her and when my cousins from Belfast came to visit as they were older than us and working age they would look after us while my mum and dad and the American couple went service as we were to young for the evening service well my cousin Shirley took me and the black child to a country store to buy sweets the shop sold toys and my cousin bought the American girl a small white baby doll and the little boy a toy tractor and my cousin bought me a small black doll in a clear plastic bag it had moulded curly hair and sleeping eyes and a feeding bottle and a cotten blue polka dot dress i still have the doll it looks vintage and of its the look of the sixies it was kept mostly in mums room now she is surrounded by Many other black and old vintage white dolls even before my mums time ,so if you come across black dolls at boot sales or thrift stores buy them up quickly really dark complextion dolls indicate that they are more vintage , and im still in contact with those black people as we are older we dont travel and visit each other any more but we are old fashiond and still write letters to each other and the odd gift of a doll and we think where did the years go

I have 2 big girl porcelain dolls that are very beautiful dolls one with blonde hair and light blue eyes does not come with a hat but she is holding a purse the other that has I assume Dark brown hair and dark brown eyes and she came with a hat on her head and I don't think they have a maker's name mark on It or a certificate where they came from but I still consider them good and beautiful dolls they could be fake porcelain dolls or someone wanted to just make the porcelain dolls but I consider them to be very rare because I'm sure they won't be anywhere else if they don't have a maker's mark or certificate on them
@Xpresso-depresso

Exactly! That’s one of the beautiful things of not knowing who or when they were made, makes it more mysterious!! Also it can be a one time make which is in itself rare and beautiful💜if they’re rare to you it doesn’t matter if they’re knock offs or anything

Your not too old for porcelain dolls at all!!! If anything your the perfect age to collect them! I am in the middle of starting to collect them even though people do find them creepy etc! I dont ! However the kind that you collect do actually creep me out a little lol 😆 😜 ! I collect baby porcelain dolls like reborn looking ones ! I have a few Leonardo ones amd ashton drake dolls but people think they are even creepier then the adult porcelain ladies lol I actually find the babies way more tolerable and some of the baby porcelain doll moulds are absolutely stunning that ashton drake make ! Ashton drake and Leonardo are my favorite brands for dolls also bisque but they can be quite expensive! And the ashton drake babies the quality can sometimes be random and rubbish and some of the ashton drake babies I will not be collecting as they are hod damn creepy as hell ! But like I said porcelain dolls are not for children my first ever one I was gifted was a baby girl called Gemma from Leonardo collection when I was around 13 years old thats when I was trusted with one as they are very fragile ! I love your collection even though I'm not really into the girls/lady dolls they freak me out a little like 1000s of eyes staring back at you ! It also depends how they are dressed for me to buy them most of mine come from ebay and I have to be proper attracted to them to even consider them in my rescue lol 😆 😅 😂 nice video and you have gained a new subscriber beleive it or not its actually harder then you think to find someone who actually collects porcelain dolls and not actual baby dolls or barbie etc even tho barbie is a huge part of my doll collection too ! Im currently concentrating on porcelain dolls though! ;) oh im from the uk by the way so my doll brands here may be different to yours! We also get other brand dolls here such as alberton and classique collection those are the brands most of yours look like they belong to should tell you anyway on the labels usually attached to them with there names 🤔
@Xpresso-depresso

I love that!! I completely agree that there is no age limit for the dolls. I absolutely admire how different our tastes in the dolls are, I would definitely be more freaked out with baby ones if I had the amount I have of the girl/lady ones. I’m in Northern Ireland so we might have very very similar brands for the porcelain dolls. I was the exact same when I got my first one as a kid, I felt so privileged to be given the responsibility of such a delicate lady 🥰 Glad to have you as a subscriber! I haven’t came across many videos about porcelain dolls, I started posting some vids on my TikTok about them & people enjoyed so I decided to come back to my KZbin ❤️❤️

Hi,some of your dolls that don’t have any markings or tags may have been the mass produced dolls made in the 80s-90s that were sold in Walmarts,they usually only had their names and stuff on their boxes but rarely anything on the actual doll
