Not a single warning about the use of hydrofluoric acid? That acid is very harmful if ingested, or if gets onto your skin or in your eyes. Was there no use of a dental dam as protection for the patient? Safety first!
@micahtuck24556 жыл бұрын
Bård Harkeås it’s a buffered/watered down hydrofluoric acid. I know some that are like 2.5% and not a 9.5% like the one in the video

@@rsuseattle2879 You would be shocked how dentists skip the dental damn and not care if you injest such toxins because they want you out of the chair pronto. it's seriously dangerous going to dentists when you don't know them well and can trust their decision making while having this done. It happens so fast, you have no time to ask a question like, where the hell is the dental dam for that acid!

How many dentists actually have the skill to apply the many steps to this process and contour the resulting tooth? Not to mention adding modifiers! Sell the patient a new bridge.

Hi, thanks for your comment! Dr. Sal Lotardo is an excellent dentist for sure. We are just sharing a technique he uses and we do believe other dentists can benefit from it with the right patient and/or the right case. We also believe direct resin is underutilized in general and we enjoy showing cases that open people's mind to the possibilities (even when we know dentists might not copy the exact procedure we are showing).

The point here is to reduce the risk of causing sensitivity/pulpal necrosis from the abutment replacement?

It worked Great, just cut out the Pontic, re-cemented the back molar crown and filled the pontic with resin. Looks great and feels great. Now I don't have a loose bridge. Dr. said that this may be a temporary solution, but could last long enough, for me to have funds for a new bridge. Also, need a bridge below it, but wants to do the top bridge, which was repaired first, in case of the new bridge down below of being strong enough to loosen what he repaired today. I was a dental assistant for 25 years, so all made sense to me. He is wonderful about explaining everything. And the cost to drill off the pontic, re-cement the molar and fill with resin was only $299.00 So happy with everything.
