Tool is such a boring band. Like nothing happens, unlike all the huge metal breakouts like in this song. Tool could never do this. They always on drugs.

@@wingstingz4779 I agree, I don't need to hear the same riff for 10 minutes

I mean, it's ok if you don't like their style of playing (to each their own and all). But to call them a Tool cover band is a bit much... You realize that Gavin Harrison is King Crimson's (literally one of Tool's main inspirations) drummer, right? If anything, those guys are the OGs, not a "cover band".

Gavin Harrison is a beast for sure! Now he plays with Pineapple Thief and King Crimson. SW is an acquired taste I think, it took me awhile to come around to him. Listening to him play with some of these musicians though, for me is a lot of fun. Guthrie Govan, Marco Minneman, and so many other greats really made some of his compositions breathe. He also remasters old prog rock albums for a ton of great bands. Evidently he's quite the sound engineer. Thanks for posting Aimless!

PT was making music before Tool. They are completely different styles. Steven Wilson has changed the sound of PT and his solo stuff so many times that you can’t place them in any category for too long. Tool, on the other hand, always sounds like Tool. And any albums that Keenan and company get involved in end up sounding like Tool. You really have to like that sound to appreciate what Tool is about. For me, I can’t get into them. Have tried countless times but just can’t. But they have a loyal following so they must be doing something right. To say PT is not up there in technical terms....that’s not quite fair. But of course someone can be the most technical player of all time and still sound like shit. Takes a real ability to be able to construct a song that people can relate to. Steven Wilson is a master at it. You just have to listen to his work and listen to what other musicians say about working with him. No one is right or wrong with reactions I suppose. It’s all subjective in the end. The goal of reactions is to get a reaction whether it is good or bad. And hopefully discover new music to appreciate!

I'm not informed enough to write a book about it, it was just my initial impression after having just heard two Tool songs right before this as someone who is new to all of it. I didn't like the singer's voice. To me it felt like he was being carried and that the drummer was the star of the band. That doesn't mean I think they're a bunch of bums. I just didn't feel like it reached that top tier for me, that's all.

Aimless as I said, it’s all subjective. Hell, look at the top 10 music charts these days. Lol. I can’t stand any of that stuff but somehow those bands and singers are reaching top 10. What I enjoy watching reactions is for the new music exposure. I’ve found some great bands I never heard of before that are now in my daily rotation and I’ve found a lot to be utter garbage in my ears. But that “garbage” is someone’s favorite band. Keep doing as you are doing. Stay honest and don’t let people get to you. Wasn’t my intention to criticize so hopefully I didn’t come off that way. I was just trying to say that someone like Steven Wilson is so dynamic that one day he might sound like Tool and the next he might sound like some dance club music (listen to his latest song called Personal Shopper). Lol.

Well, music appreciation is a completely subjective thing, but I completely disagree with your review. The compositional complexity of this song make Tool look like rank amateurs.

I don't mind. I've tried to get into Tool, many times, but I find it so one-dimensional. You hear one song, you've heard them all.

Congratulations. You are the first person I have seen reacting to this song but didn't like it. Each to their own. The group was formed back in the early 90S. So not exactly a Tool cover band. A karaoke singer what an insult. Steven Wilson is one of the finest musicians and writers as Porcupine Tree and his solo work is amazing but probably not to your taste

That is why it is important to do some home work before reacting to a video. At least know the basics so that you don't end up offending people.

i would of respected your view on the song if you didn't have such an "uneducated" view on it. it was just shallow dig saying it sounded like a tool cover band. they DO NOT SOUND LIKE TOOL. listen to some more Porcupine Tree. Give "Blackest Eyes" a go "Open Car" "the Start of Somthing Beautiful" "Shallow" "Strip the Soul" the whole Deadwing album In Absentia hell just listen to more Porcupine Tree. then come back and form an opinion cause we all PISSED!

My response was to this 1 song, as I know nothing of their other work. They might be primarily a yodeling group for all I know; this is a reaction of an experience to 1 song.

Im just gonna offer some helpful criticism. If you're gonna do music reactions, you should either be a musician, or at least be very open minded (the best are both).
