It's nice to see mother daughter as a team working together. In mother's house also they never make poriurundai. It's not that they don't know to make. It's a sampradayam to keep them just like that after mixing with vellapagu.

It's only because of you and maami (your KZbin video) that I managed to make the urundais on Sunday. First time ever 🙂till now mom or mom in law used to make and give. Though both my kids and husband are not big fans of the urundais, I wanted to test myself, push myself out of comfort zone. Thanks to all the tips you've given in the video, I was able to make both urundais in the first try. Thank you Neeru and maami

Nice video - like the small batch tip. if you are unable to mold into urundai - take a kadai and lightly heat in small batches add uthiri pori which already has vella pagu added and heat lightly - this only works if the pagu was under cooked originally- reheating slightly progresses the pagu to next stage - you can start molding at this stage - same also works in microwave heating for under 1 min… if pagu was over cooked or already dried in the pori - then follow same method - but make another new batch of small quantity pagu - this time bring it to right consistency and then pour it over uthiri pori to bind it again - these are 2 tips to fix bloopers -

Thank you and maami for this recipe. Your measurements are pakka that I made it with ease. Once I poured the paagu in pori and mixed it, it was very easy to make the round shape.

Neeru ka.. I was waiting for this video, asusual it was a perfect outcome by following your instructions. The best thing is the quantity you mentioned i done it in 4 batches - 2 50 gms for nel pori & 2 100 gms for Aval pori🥳🥳🥳 i made it in jiffy. A heartfelt thanks & gratitude for your teachings.

Dear mami, in Nellai region, we don’t make it round, we call as “ pahu sel uthi ya pori ” for Thirukarthikai deepam, as people migrated to other places and for convenience to distribute to friends and relatives, we also make urundai these days, but generally, as it is we mix the jaggery pahu only

My Nel pori came well...but aval pori Sothapal, but it is loose .not rock...

No need of micro oven.just you have to reheat the pori.you will be able make urundai easily.

We had a new way .four cups poori one cup chikki jaggery .melt jaggery with one tablespoon ghee and slowly melt add coconut and elachi powder when it starts Boling add poori and mix nicely off the gas and slowly make laddu
