Hi Maria, thanks for sharing, I cook all my joints of meat in the slow cooker, never done chops or chicken breast. Thanks for sharing.

I'm going to have to try doing meat in mine. How much fluid do you put in with your joint? How long would you leave it cook for? Slow cookers are very new to me, I've only done stews and rice pudding so far, but I really like the flavours and texture. Thank you for watching 😊

@@therichardsonssimpleliving Hi Maria, I don't add any liquids, just brown them off to seal the meat and cook on high 4 hrs. Hope this helps.

Thankyou Maria I’m still a bit old fashioned when it comes to cooking meat in these modern machines but they did look nice pork can be a dry anyway so I would probably prefer to slow cook them in a casserole I think that would be my preference thanks Maria ❤️😊👍🏻

Yes I agree with you. I'm not a lover of pork but I think slow cooked in a nice gravy would be nice. Thank you for watching 😊

I use my thermometer for most things Maria,just incase the centre of the meat isn't quite at the right temperature as the air fryer can brown quicker on the outside of the meat,I cooked a couple of nice big fillet steaks yesterday and they were lovely,so tender,I always go by temperature for them,65 to 68c and they are medium to well done,I have done boiled eggs in the air fryer but I prefer to do mine in the pressure cooker as the shells peel off so easily,another enjoyable video flower Xx
@therichardsonssimpleliving2 ай бұрын
I've found my new thermometer really useful. I like that it's digital. My old one had like a dial on the top, it had a red hand that went round to the temperature it was. It looked a bit like a weighing scale. I've never done a boiled egg in my air fryer, to be honest I never knew you could. I always think of boiled eggs boiling in water. I have to try them and see what happens, I just hope they won't explode! 😂 Thank you for watching 😊

I don’t own a air fryer,as for me alone I can’t imagine what I would use it for,Those very thin pork chops would have taken about 5 minutes in a frying pan,they were so over cooked.Slow cookers are great to do tough meats,even pork chops if you like them stewed,I think better for a shoulder pork roast.I don’t like meats over cooked,so the only way I do pork,or lamb chops is on the stove in a frying pan,where I can keep an eye on them.
@therichardsonssimpleliving2 ай бұрын
My family are mixed, some like their meat (like chops & bacon) well done and some like them barely done. I normally grill chops for my lot. I'm going to give slow cooking a try to see what I think. I'm not really a big meat person and I'm not mad on pork. I prefer chicken and turkey. Thank you for watching 😊

@therichardsonssimpleliving2 ай бұрын
I like the idea of doing them in the slow cooker. They would be very flavoursome cooking in gravy and onions. I do like my tongs, but get in a bit of a pickle with them sometimes, especially opening them, I often push the top the wrong way when I'm trying to release them, lol. Thank you for watching 😊

Pork chopks in a slow cooker are delicious. I don't pre-fry them. Just slice one large onion and pop it into the slow cooker, add the chops and some dried sage sprinkled over, then add two cored, quartered and sliced eating apples (Red Delicious work well) - pour over enough cider or apple juice to come halfway up the contents. Slow cook on high for about 4-5 hours. Lovely served with cheesy mashed potatoes!

That sounds delicious! I'll be giving that a go, thank you, and thank you for watching 😊

Good video, thank you. Just a reminder for health and hygienic safety rules you should never eash your hands in a kitchen sink Thats why food safety regulations insist on separate hand wash basins in catering outlets. Its dangerous to use your kitchen sink for hand washing

Hello Maria, they came out ok didn't they? They would be lovely with some apple sauce from ya apples and some of your veggies, yes chops in the slow cooker but I'm not keen on lamb chops in slow cooker as too greasy for me. Lamb in airfryer and pork in slow cooker. I like plain old salt n pepper on before cooking and serve with a sauce or gravy. Thanks for sharing Maria I always look forward to seeing what you're going to show us. You take care of yourself too and have a lovely weekend.😃👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

I'll have to make a batch of apple sauce. I like the flavour of lamb, but it's too bony and grisly for me. I buy minced lamb for shepherd's pie and stews. Thank you for watching 😊

To be honest, apart from turkey and chicken, I'm not a big meat lover. I prefer my meat in stews and casseroles so they're slow cooked and melts in your mouth. It's a good idea to cover them in foil. Thank you for watching 😊

I don't eat the fat off of meat either. It's not that I don't like it but for some reason I can't swollow it It will only go so far down then it sticks. When I was a toddler I use to go around the dinner table and take the fat off peoples plates that they didn't eat and chew on it like it was gum. My mom didn't take us out to eat often. lol

I think thicker ones are easier to cook in the airfryer you can get three thicker ones in Tesco for £3.99 and they cook really well. Thinner ones tend to be hit or miss and there’s a danger they become too tough really.
