PORK HAMONADO ROLL is a sweet and tangy dish made with pork pigue or shoulders, marinated with pineapple juice and other ingredients. It resembles sliced ham but a thick version. Thinking about what to serve for the Holidays? This is the perfect dish and is sure to be a hit on the table. I made it simpler but I guarantee, won't compromise the taste. Try this for your Noche Buena and let me know in the comment section.
Here are the ingredients:
1 1/2 kilo pork pigue, hamonado cut
1 can pineapple juice, 530ml
1/4 cup fish sauce
2 tsp fine black pepper
6 pieces sweet ham
4 pieces jumbo cheese dog
cooking oil
6 cloves garlic, minced
1 large white onion, chopped
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 cups grated cheese
add more pepper, optional
1 tbsp rice flour or cornstarch, diluted in 2 tbsp water
cooking twine
NOTES:
📝 Best to marinate overnight
📝 Cooking time, 1 hour and 20 minutes or until the meat is fork-tender and cooked through.
