So years ago when I was in early teens, I used to watch river cottage all the time... always found Gill so soothing, River Cottage really captured my heart for cooking. So glad I’ve found him again! Thank you 😁

If I did this, I'd probably grate the apple into the mixture, as the largest chunks seem to fall out when in the pan (or the BBQ)

I'm never buying pre-ground spices again! Thanks for the great advice, Gill.

Yea, they're just a waste. The flavor is mainly gone especially when purchased from the supermarket. Buy from a bulk spice merchant. Better price, incredible quality. I'm so glad Chicago winter is almost over. Looking forward to planting my herb garden in my balcony and saving money on fresh herbs.
@c.c.frodin19879 жыл бұрын
badjujuwan A bulk spice merchant, yeah. Thank you, I will. And I'm also itching for the gardening season to begin. It's a tiny plot, but I usually get great chives and beetroot. Good luck with your Chicago herb garden and have a great summer. :)

Just made this - it was ok. A couple of apple bits that were on the edges of the burger fell out, but if you handle with care, not really a problem. The burgers can take a lot of spice and seasoning, so don't skimp on that.

i think Gill Meller should release his own cookery book - something the size of the river cottage everyday book - as i'm not a fan of small books - it could contain some of his recipes from his time at river cottage & his time being at river cottage.

Looks brilliant! far too many chicken and beef burgers out there. I like the simplicity of only topic with the rustic mustard. I am tempted to make these at my next barbeque and not even mention that they are pork and wait to hear what people say. I live in Shanghai and beef is usually a bit off or too expensive, but we know pork in China:) Off to the butchers!

corriander is not a spice, it is a herb.
@TheGardenerNorth3 жыл бұрын
Coriander spice is the seed from the Cilantro herb plant . Seeds are not herbs, but spices and they are distinctly different. Dried coriander seed tastes nothing like the leaves of cilantro.
@prinsepe879 жыл бұрын
That much whole grain mustard makes this a mustard burger. Plus, you're only going to taste mustard afterwards... and for like 12 hrs after :)
