I am married by the JOP to my husband here in Tucson. However this is both of our second marriages. My husband was married by the Catholic Church in his first marriage and the Catholic Church says he's still married to his first wife and doesn't acknowledge our civil marriage. They said we need to petition his first marriage all the way to the Vatican. How do I approach this or does it even matter how that were not Catholics anymore?

Speaking as someone who hasn't so much as even romantically held hands with someone in over half of a decade, I would find doing THAT intimate - and the idea of cuddling with a romantic partner INCREDIBLY intimate, special, and heart-filling. I think desensitization to such things in general only happens if you, and your partner, aren't in harmonious coexistence in your intimate relationships with God. In terms of pornography destroying intimacy... well OF COURSE it does!!! You're involving strangers into your relationship. I feel I don't need to open a dictionary and quote certain definitions to reinforce my (hopefully) obvious point here. Even though I am single, the idea of pornography absolutely DISGUSTS me (full transparency: this was absolutely NOT the case when I was a lost soul for ~20 years.) In conclusion: Thank You Jesus Christ for paying my sin debt in full and filling my heart wholly with Your love. Thank You Jesus Christ for healing me mentally, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and in all other ways I am unable to bring to the surface and write down at present.
