I nearly built a similar motor years ago in 2.1 litre guise, never got there after my fully sorted 2.7 . Part of me wants that motor back now!! :-) :-) :-) :-) after having the 75 model for 18 years I can say they are all infectious from the rasp of the atmospheric vs the grunted shrill of the mighty k27 turbod 3.0. Great vid with all the good sounds!

This looks so like the Porsche 934 to me. Did they simply change the name over the years?

Not exactly. The 934 uses a 3 liter turbo flat 6 instead of a 2.1 in addition to many more differences and is about 2 years younger. The 934 was introduced in 1976 for FIA Group 4 racing thus the "4" in 934. The same is true for the 935 and 936 which were built for FIA Group 5 and Group 6 respectively. So while they're ultimately based on the same generation of the 911, they're not the same car. For example, if you look at a mid-70s 3.0 RSR you will see what I mean.

It was because it ran as a prototype where the maximum engine displacement was 3 litres, but with a turbo it was multiplied x1.4 so it makes it a 3 litre.

First gen 911 a 2.7?! It started with a 2.0. Later, 2.7 was either a 73 Carrera RS but the 2.7 came on the "G" type as of 1974. First gen never had a 2.7. In this case of this RSR, it was originally a 2.8 NA converted to 2.1 Turbo proto.
