Check my description and you can see everything including price. Came out to just under $119k USD. I did not sea an alcantara option for the shifter. I wish it was an option. Alcantara most important is to clean often. Start with brushing (a small brush for suede is food) this gets dust out. Then a damp microfiber towel to wipe. Then dry with dry towel. If still not clean as you need use Sonax Alcantara as directed. After dry, brush out.

However, 2 weeks ago, while just taking a ride with my wife, we heard a clunking noise from the car at slow speeds only (very inconsistent). Great video, I owned the first Cayman S back in 2006 when it first came out. I wanted to enjoy a proper affordable mid-engine Porsche. I kept that car for 6 years because it was amazing to drive. Like on your video whenever I saw a speed sign for warning maximum recommended speed I knew I could triple that speed and still safety corner in the mid-engine Cayman S. I went back to a 911 however just for the interior space. I am on my 17th Porsche a 911 Turbo in Guards Red. Thinking about adding a 718 SPYDER to my garage. I have had many Z06's over the years and they are amazing machines, they just weren't up to par in the interior department. That has changed now, I sat in a 3LT trim level recently right after test driving a GT4 and the interior quality difference was ZERO Driving dynamics with the Vette being mid-engine and the Z06 model geared more towards the track rat rather than the general public and the 60 YO crowd, all the short comings of the Base & Z51 Vette will be a non-issue.

Great video, lots of info and opinions with nice production and formatting! However.... I'm surprised so many are getting the GT4 rather than the GTS 4.0 when they mostly drive it on the street as a daily/weekend car. If the car sees a lot of track use, then of course I understand the choice and would absolutely agree that the GT4 is the superior car -- but for the street (with perhaps an odd/rare track visit), myself I think the GTS is the better car (probably, I should say in all fairness, since my opinion is based upon reading and gathering *lots* of information and not on my own physical experience in this case), and that is why I opted for the GTS 4.0 instead (it should have been delivered this week, but unfortunately it's been post-poned two months due to the global circuit shortage). I would concur that the emotional experience you get from the GT4 probably is a richer one since it's a "sexier" and more dynamic creature (than the GTS), but on the other hand I like the "stealthier" and more sub-dued look of the GTS, where other drivers may think it's just a simple entry-level Porsche, while at the same time it has in practicality the same performance as the GT4 on most public roads. Mine is also black on black, but I have removed all badges and even went with black instead of red brake callipers, just to tone it down visually. Like you, I also have another family car (a black RS6 Avant 2014 with a stage 1 tune @690 PS with 98RON), but GTS was as far as I would go in terms of a fun rear-wheel drive mid-engine two-seater for the street...). Those of you who have ordered or already have a GT4, did you also consider the GTS 4.0 or was it never even open for discussion? If you did consider the GTS, then what made you decide to go with the GT4 instead (those of you who are driving it regularly on the track need not reply :-)?
@JetFuelOnly3 жыл бұрын
All good points. Motor trend I think it was just did a comparison, it’s very close even on the track. But I admit the main difference for me is the emotional factor. Otherwise 100% GTS.

Great video! Congratulations on your new ride! I ordered a 2021 718 Spyder GT silver with the red interior. It took 17 months for the car to arrive after I rebuilt the 2020 order with a PK transmission. I ordered many of the options that you didn’t. I could not be happier with the car. I think the cars is under priced by $30-$50,000. I do wish I could have use the carbon fiber seats. They are gorgeous but they are really hard to get in and out …. Therefore my wife requested the 18 way seats. They’re very comfortable and supportive seats. The Spyder is hell of a lot of fun since we live at the beach in S. Cal.

@@JetFuelOnly beautiful car by the way. I drove a 991.2 GT3 at the Porsche Experience for 90 minutes and now really get why Porsche is such a good brand. They really make cars that beg to be driven hard, and they can take as much as you can throw at it, all day, every day. A high revving Porsche flat 6 is a beautiful thing to experience. That GT3 with the stratospheric 9000 RPM redline was something to behold, and the 8000 RPM GT4 4.0 is certainly a great sounding and performing engine in its own right. The level of grip from a GT car are huge, and they are very adjustable and easy to read when you manage them through a corner. Now I have the Porsche bug.
